I hope forever. YES, I am ordering some for my adult children.
Sound
Just opened it Christmas morning nd in 3 mins had my iPod playing Christmas music the rest of the day. It doesn't distort even at full volume, which all my neighbors could hear in their houses...But is sounds fantastic also at low levels for just my wife and me as we ate Christmas dinner. A fantastic addition to our home music choices and it will work at big parties and small weddings for music or announcements. Great product so far!
Features
EZ to use with iPod and/or mic. Radio does not catch more than two stations but we live far from broadcast centers and in a valley...
Ease of Use
No learning curve - I opened it , plugged in my iPod and was listening to music in three mionutes.
Quality
So far seems perfect and appears very well made and solid. It's nor pretty but that is not it's intention.
Value
It was cheaper than the little iPod docks that you see at many retailers and sounds like a concert speaker - vhewap at twice theprice!
The Wow Factor
Plays so perfectly, easy to use, multiple uses for our family and long battery life = Perfect Machine!

"Extremely versatile, Solid Build."

If anything happens to this one ... I'd probably look for a different brand for a wedge shaped monitor or one that mounts on a stand or has reverb but until then, I'm really enjoying this one.
Sound
I just did a gig with this. I'm a folk singer and play some open air markets so I decided to give it a go on a rainy Saturday. It was a blast. I used 2 AKG C1000S, 9V battery powered, condenser microphones and played for 2 hours with the tailgater. It was just fine and I didn't have to risk my best amp and speakers. The sound quality is a bit boxy (but quite acceptable) and there are no effects/EQ to deal with but I knew that when I bought it. I will be using this as a powered monitor in the future which is why I bought it. Thus, for processed sounds such as going through either of my mixers, the tailgater sounds just fine. Same goes with I-pods and MP3 players, it sounds okay and has lots of punch.
Features
Comes with a microphone (which I should probably give to my 6Y/O kid) and a power chord. My model didn't come with the XLR input, had two 1/4" jacks instead but the I-pod port is recessed and much less vulnerable and the handles are molded plastic, recessed on the sides. The knobs are sturdy the battery power LEDs, power supply and link jack on my model are on the back. I bought a couple of XLR to TRS cables for my mics.
Ease of Use
There is no learning curve here but it's up to you to decide how you are going to use it. I actually bought it as a Powered Monitor and am convinced that it will serve me well. It's also an I-pod/MP3 speaker and will recharge your I-pod. As I discovered right away, it also can serve as a complete PA system for small gigs and even busking, given that the batteries will last for a full 8 hours. Could be used as a guitar amp too but I think I'll be using it mostly as a practise amp. I can run backing tracks and two mics into this without cluttering up the whole dining room.
Quality
The only problem I have with this unit is that it is solid plastic but even so, it doesn't strike me as being fragile in any way. All of the switches, sockets and knobs seem sturdy enough.
Value
This is the lowest price model I looked at. I wouldn't fault any of the similar gear that I checked before and after this purchase. Nor would I guarantee that I'd buy this again before buying a different model. It holds its own in a particular market but does not blow the competition away.
