Fantastic desktop monitors
Sound
Fantastic sound quality! Wanted something compact for desktop listening with great sound quality and decent volume. These are a little pricier than something I'd normally consider, but considering the features that go into this unit, i decided there really is a lot of value for your money. Active 2 way, 100W RMS (I question if that much amplifier was necessary for these) and stupid dumb easy calibration with included measurement microphone!?JUST WOW!Do they sound perfect? No... but honestly when calibrated, they're pretty close. Overall they play extremely flat and balanced.
Ease of Use
Very easy to get great sound! Just use included calibration microphone.Sound settings on the back are inconvenient to use.Would be nice if settings could be adjusted by PC since USB port exists. Maybe with future firmware update?
Quality
Product seems very well constructed and durable. I expect these to last many many years.

On sale, worth every penny! Regular price, still great!

I guess you're feeling about these monitors will depend on the type of music you're producing. I work with R&B and Hip-Hop and, while I appreciate the highs and midrange production of these monitors, the low end leaves a lot to be desired. I watched videos and read reviews of these before I purchased and I thought they would work for my set-up. Indeed, they work well at low volume (even on the low end). But, as soon as I turn the volume up at about 15-20% the highs do what they do and the lows begin to bubble and muffle at times. And, other times the low end rides the bottom of the track with very little punch and distinction, more like a hum than part of the track. I've also had some issues with clipping which I was able to somewhat mitigate but, it's still an issue that I need to be aware of. Again, it will depend on the type of music you're monitoring and, probably your expectations. For me, I got caught up in the discussions regarding their size and the output associated which is indeed remarkable. Unfortunately, these MTM's proved to me that size CAN indeed matter when it comes to low end monitoring. That said, I'm going to keep them because, as I stated before, at lower levels these monitors are pretty good. Keep in mind, I have the iLoud Micro Monitors and, at low levels, they are pretty good too!

The are the best desktop monitors I've ever heard! They sound better than the Genelec 8010A, which I almost bought... good thing I waited til these came out!

I have a pair of these speakers and though they're desktop speakers, they're so much more. I love the sound reproduction and clarity. These ilouds sound better than some high-end monitors. There's so much depth in the sound, it blows me away!!

I thought that since I own their smaller brothers the iLoud Micro for about 4 years, these being much bigger would sound the same or at least three times better... aaaandd....NOT... This speakers sound great yes, but it as not punch and is horrible on the low end. They DO NOT have a level control! it's just some type of balancing knob. If you producer heavy low end music I do not recommend it. I hope IK fixes these things if not its no bueno!...
