I just received this product yesterday, 8/7/24. It is 100% useless to my situation. And I suspect that it would be pretty much useless to anybody that could actually use it. Don't you just love the 21st century?Bear with me, and let's start with the positives. It is made from thick, seemingly durable plastic. Whether or not the plastic threads, on the plastic screw, torqued into the plastic mount time and time and time again will stand up to the abuse. I can't answer that. I doubt that many touring acts would ever need or use an item like this. So, in a home studio setting, this item would probably last until some drunk pulls the clipping part too far and breaks it that way.The first problem that I noticed with this item was that there is a strap of some sort that was supposed to be attached to it. However, my box didn't contain that strap. Not the end of the world, I have tons of velcro straps for cable management. The deal breaker for me and this item is that it isn't built to accept a tablet with a protective cover on it. Maybe it's just me, being an old dinosaur, but I think that MOST people carrying around a tablet costing (up to) thousands of dollars use a case to protect it. Especially if they are in a scenario where it could be dropped easily, such as in a studio with a bunch of people of varying levels of sobriety! And who want to go through the trouble of taking the tablet out of one protective case, just to mount it on a mic stand, only to have to reapply the case, just to do it all over again? To me, this product just seems to be another example of engineers making a product without ever consulting the customers that would USE the product. For the record, I'm not returning it. zZounds bears no responsibility for this item not working for me. And who knows, I might find some way to use it in the future. Finally, I have a question for the people at iKlip. They'll never answer it, but I'm gonna ask anyway:"WHAT APPS?"This is a piece of ABS plastic, and some non-slip rubber gripping. How could it possibly require a single app, much less the multiple appS that your insert promised?Do you people seriously think that simply because I dropped $60 on 15 cents worth of plastic, and 25 cents worth of silicone, that I'm interested in having your corporation track my every movement across both the virtual, and real worlds mining data for sale?Yup, DEFINITELY a company more focused on the sales data, than the usability of their products.So...buyer beware. It's seems sturdy, but is absolutely NOT compatible with a protective case. And quality control is such that you may, or may not get everything that is supposed to come with it. (Hopefully they will leave the offer to track your every movement out of your box!)
