I can't for the life of me understand the negative reviews. The axe I/O is a first class piece of gear for guitar players. Amplitube max sounds great. Not a big fan of most of the presets, however there are many to had on some FB groups that sound awesome. I highly recommend this product.

I've been looking to upgrade my Focusrite 2i2, Apogee Jam+, and iRig Pro Duo combination (don't ask!) for quite some time because I was never completely happy with the constant tweaking required for guitar tones without high end harshness and sizzle. zZounds had the AXE I/O on sale for $299, so I went for it. One interface to rule them all, LOL. The mic pres are at least as good as the Scarlett. The midi and expression pedal inputs work as expected for keys, drums, wah wah, etc. AXE I/O has plenty of clean volume on the headphone out. The JFET and Z-Tone controls are subtle but make all the difference with my Fenders and Gibsons. Again, harshness, brittleness, high end sizzle...GONE. e. Easy setup and installation of control softwaref. Amp-Out/Re-Amp is a great feature. Lots of ways to experiment here. Plays nice with Logic Pro. No noticeable latency at 256. Highly recommended for guitar players using amp sims.

"Excellent product, worst tech support"

This unit is ready to rock right out of the packaging. The issue here is the absolute failure that is the IK Multimedia support line. No contact number provided, no response after 24 hours for online support. With a hundred other options for USB interfaces, this is a dealbreaker.

"Axe I/O & Amplitube 5"

I am finally able to play backing tracks while running Amplitube software either stand-alone or in a DAW in minutes without driver issues and audio artifacts.I was able to plug in a footswitch and volume pedal directly into the Axe I/O’s respective ports to control pedal models as well as use the looper and a midi controller to control amp parameters in Amplitube. All very straight forward to get running. I highly recommend.

"Don't buy it if you don't have an USB 2.0 port"

It may work, but it will constantly disconnect and connect until it no longer works and you cannot get support from the company because they don't care. Emailed them a month and still waiting for a response. Selling my audio interface right now.

I bought this and the software it is bundled with constantly requires you to buy something .The interface produces a significant delay in signal there are no manuals for the equip not even on the makers website, and Amplitude is a complete waste
