I was very surprised by the quality of this guitar right out of the box. Smooth fast neck and ridiculously lightweight. I can play this thing all night. It has a very warm feel and clean sound. The pickups are fine and for the price, you are really getting one heck of a guitar. I can't say enough about the ZR2 tremolo. I've only used Floyds and this easily puts them to shame. I'm an Ibanez fan for life!

I"ve had it 3 weeks. Its everything the reviews said it was. Weakest point about the 420 would be the PUs . Good amp & effects units remedy that. Sounds really good through my Line 6 Looper & effects unit. For the even better than I expected. Tremelo best ever played, been playing 45 years. neck plays great. Intonation an action perfect out of the box. 5 position switch is a big plus, adds stat sounds. & Jazz sounds to a rocking machine. Great guitar

"It's an Ibanez baby, go for it!"

Pure Ibanez all the way. The looks, the tone, the playability, it's all there, a rock machine ready to make business happen. The 5 way selector switch offers coil splitting variety that produces good versatility for a wider range of tones whether it's screaming overdrive to smooth cleans all the while retaining warmth and punch. The pickups are like hot PAF's. The neck is the Wizard 3 which may take a bit of getting used to if you are accustomed to the Wizard 2. It feels wider and flatter but I like a variety of feel to my guitars. A quick string change, a neck shim and small adjustments to the ZR trem and I've got this thing ready to rock or whatever genre I want to use it for. It's Ibanez baby, go for it! In my opinion the ZR trem is the best trem I've ever used.
