"Incredible sounding and playing guitar for the money!!!"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars

This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
This is my main practice guitar now. If stolen, I would probably buy another one like it or maybe the next better S model up in the Ibanez product line. It is the purplest and coolest $300 guitar out there!
Sound
You can play everything from inspired blues to crunching heavy metal on this very flexible axe. With the right distortion pedal or amp it becomes a TOTAL heavy metal MONSTER!!!!. It retains tonality even when highly processed with effects. The basic sound is not twangy like a strat, but is unique and has a very appealing character of its own. I find that I practice longer and enjoy it more with this guitar because of its satisfying basic tone and harmonics. With my S370 I use a Boss Blues Driver 2 pedal for mellower sounds and a DOD Grunge for heavier music and can get almost any guitar sound ever heard with this setup. There is no guitar less than $700 that sounds as good as this one.
Features
This is a light guitar with a thinned out body. I am built small so I need a lighter guitar. Despite the smaller body the guitar (and me) still has great sustain and power. The neck is thinned out too, and has giant frets and cool wave-like fretboard markers. The action is very low and plays VERY FAST!!!! The three pickups give a wide range of tonalities to choose from.
Quality
A guitar tech set mine up and it was about perfect. No visible defects in either the hardware or the cosmetics.
Value
I think a great value when compared especially to strats. Sounds as good as more "name" guitars costing a lot more.
Manufacturer Support
No clue here, haven't dealt with them yet but they have a nice website.
The Wow Factor
Metal Flake Purple, one of my favorite colors! Black hardware, so cool!!! Wavy fretboard inlays, nice! THe thinned out light body is a big plus.

I would definetly buy other S models, they don't disappoint.
Sound
Great sound, both clean and distorted. Has good sustain. The stock pick-ups are great but I dropped in Seymour Duncans, (Dimebucker @ bridge, Hotrails in the middle, and Invader @ the neck) now it screams plays soft and grungy when I ask it to.
Features
I got it in Grey pewter, awsome color.
Quality
Well made ax good attention to detail.
Value
I probably would of paid more.
The Wow Factor
I love the thin design and how light it is I can carry it all day.

"Great Axe...."

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars

I don't think I will be needing a new guitar any time soon. Between this and my Ibanez Cutaway acoustic electric I have all my bases covered.
Sound
This is a very versatile guitar, and came out of the box ready to play. The action felt great, and the harmonics were spot on. Didn't even have to take it to have the action or harmonics worked on before playing it! The different tones that you can get out of this guitar are realy quite impressive, from the thin and bitey "strat" sound to a full rich jazz sound. Very nice.
Features
Great Flexibility, and love the locking bridge and nut! Makes live tuning a breeze, and it hardly ever falls out of tune, no matter how much I munch on the strings!!!!
Quality
Overall, no problems with this guitar. It works well, and has worked well.
Value
I couldn't ask for a better guitar for the price. The versatility of this axe is like haveing 3 guitars in one. It rocks!!!
Manufacturer Support
haven't had to deal with the company. The guitar has been flawless so far.
The Wow Factor
I think its a really nice looking guitar, but wish it were available in other colors besides flat red an flat purple!

"Everythings ok,but one thing..."

After I changed the tremolo,I had no problems.I am satisfied.I'll change it only if it will have other problems in future.
Sound
I am satisfied with the sound. It could have better pick-ups
Features
It has a Floyd Rose that didn't work at all.The guitar does not stay tuned.I changed it with a LoProEdge tremolo from Ibanez;now I am satisfied.I guess that's why they don't make these S370 anymore.
Quality
Everything's ok,only the floyd-rose is sh**
