Ibanez RGMS7 Multi-Scale Electric Guitar

Whereas most 7-string guitars have tension issues, the Ibanez RGMS7 remains stable and exhibits resonant tone on each string, thanks to its multi-scale neck.

This is the most awesome guitar I have ever played. Flawless intonation and craftsmanship. Very easy to play with a light touch or if you want to get heavy,it responds with a beautiful tone that is very clear and expressive. Awesome, perfect fretwork, very well made guitar. The angle frets make it so easy and comfortable to pick through notes fast with no mistakes or crosstalk with other strings.Nice, crisp, clear warm tone with a awesome heavy sound.I absolutely have found the best guitar ever made. One mean metal machine. The only guitar that can do better is another Ibanez! The other model (rgim7)with the EMG pickups was the only guitar that is better, for a higher price.

I've had this guitar for over a year now, and I've modified it twice. The stock Array 7 pickups are not the best. I installed a set of Seymour Duncan Nazgul Sentient 7 string passive pickups and that didn't help the sound. For it being a multi-scale guitar, the pole pieces have to be aligned under the strings. It sounded worse than before. Since then, I swapped them out with active EMG 81-8 and 85-8 soapbar pickups (drilling and dremeling required). It sounds way better now. The tuning machines don't stay in tune that well. The 5 way selector switch is at an awkward angle when installing or soldering wires, so it was replaced with a EMG Les Paul style 3 way toggle switch. The monorail bridge is OK. It could almost be an Axion or Iron Label after putting this much work into it.
Value
My opinion, no. Ibanez Iron Labels used to cost this much or maybe a little more but they had better features: locking tuners, aftermarket pickups, better finishes, better bridges.
