Ibanez RG852MPBGFB Prestige Electric Guitar, 8-String (with Case)

The combination of a Gibraltar Standard II bridge and an Ultra 8 neck gives the RG851MPB extra-solid stability and precise intonation across all 8 strings.

I ordered this guitar a year ago, and it has served me better than I could've ever imagined. You truly feel like you're holding a well-crafted instrument when playing thus beast. The ultra-8 neck plays like a dream, and the PAF-8's sing in any of the 5 positions available. Aside from this guitar playing incredibly, its aesthetics are incredible in person. The stock pictures don't do this axe enough justice. However, I will note that the body of this guitar is extremely soft. You can indent & scratch it with a very soft press or your fingernail. I actually made the mistake of putting on straplocks with clips, by dimarzio. They have rubbed the back of the guitar towards the bottom down to its basswood body. Belt buckle rash is exasperated with this finish as well. The top of my guitar is still perfect, but from the back you can tell it's been played. If I could go back and do it all again, I'd reserve this beatific monster to home recording and use. She might be TOO pretty for the trials of routine live use, although it has held up extremely well (save for the finish on the back) Overall it's a fantastic guitar and I'm proud to have it in my arsenal.
