I bought this guitar because it looked like one of the Ibanez's I played years ago and had since sold, I was surprised at the quality, playability and sound, at first I was taken back at the size, its a small body,I'm used to 16 archtops as I play jazz a lot but this does it too, just took some used to. I like the single coil function without pulling on the tone knob, the finish is flawless and the neck prefect.

This guitar came with a grounding problem. zZounds discounted the guitar and I fixed it my self. I replaced the jack and found that there was a ground wire under the treble side bridge stud. So it grounded itself upon lowering the bridge. All fixed now.Overall, this is a really good guitar. The fit and finish is really top notch. The frets are nicely dressed as well. The pickups are ok. Great for clean, but a little harsh sound when using high gain. The gold hardware is nice. The Super Switches for each pick will give you HB in parallel or series, or split the coils for single coil sounds. My daughter saw it and wants one now. Maybe that in the future I will get her an AR325 of AR420. The truss rod is easy access on this guitar.I may put a set of DiMarzio Super Distortion in it and replace the pots. This is gonna be a guitar I use to play in pubs, and it looks real good. Visually it stands out against all the Les Pauls and LP clones.
Value
I think the AR420 is probably the best value in the line or the AR325QA. But the AR520HFM is a good value for a semi hollow.
The Wow Factor
The finish on this guitar is just stunning.

This is great guitar with excellent sounds from warm and intimate to crunch and distortion. It's very well built but light in weight and really packs a punch. Also plays well with pedals. Sounds as good or better than guitars costing 3 times as much. Very ergonomic sitting or standing and the Super 58 pups shine thru with every lick. No wonder George Benson and Pat Matheny sound so good. Their guitar models also have the Super 58 pups. This is my favorite guitar of all that I've owned, and I've had plenty. Will buy another one.
