"The sound I was wanting"

I've been playing guitar since 1991. I've spent alot of money, alot of money trying to sort out the sound I needed for my style of playing. This is not as easy as one may think! I have a closet full of expectations that I was looking for from past years. The hollow body is one I never had. I love the tone of the acoustic, but wanted the play-ablility of a strat or tele. I found myself looking at a Cretsch, but didn't want that hard in your face sound. Playing in church, calls for all sorts of styles. But I was looking something more of a Southern Gospel approach to this, almost a Jazz sound. Coming across the Ibanez AF75G in flat black. Hmm maybe we have something here. Alot of reviews later, I like the pickups too. Note, this is going to be the last guitar, no more. And so at the time of this review, my dad was dying of Cancer and this was going to be dedicated to him that I wantred to use as my main go to set up. And I wasn't wrong. It has a sweet tone. The guitar is nice in it's fit and finish. Frets are nicely done. Neck set looks good. Tonal was spot on. Neck was straight. Just put on some Ernie Ball 10-48 strings and it sounds great.I was expecting this body to be very chunky, but it's not. It's not too slim nor is it too fat. The body to me is between a Jr. and Full size. I have a belly so it's perfect for playing sitting down.I looked around at other on-line stores, but I found that Zzounds just makes it so easy to own something if your strapped for alot of cash at the moment. Hats off to all here for this option.
Value
I would buy another one. This makes three guitars that I have bought from Ibanez. They have all held up.

Had it 3 months now. Basic jazz box. Looks better than the picture. Classy. Perfect workmanship in every detail. Probably versatile but I stick to warm jazz and blues. Like the af75 a lot and this is well worth the extra few dollars. I've been playing for 60years and am hyper particular and hard to please. If I had money I'd buy more expensive gear but this does not look, sound or play cheap. This is more jazzy mellow than the gretsch 2420 so I like it better but the 2420 is great but a more aggressive sound. I don't need a lot of features like split coil switch etc and this is perfect for me. There are a number of good brands of jazzbox in this price range. This is the best for me as I like basic and quality more than multi features.

The guitar is beautiful. Sounds phenomenal. Love the hollow body and how much resonance that can add to the sound. I was shocked to have the guitar in hand next day.
