"It's a great sounding guitar that looks just as beautiful. If you like finger picking the slim neck will make you a happy happy"
I love getting new guitars but i think i'll keep this one no matter what else i get. it's my baby :). I did consider getting a fender that went for $200 but had less options didn't feel as good to me and to be honest i liked the way the ibanez looked (and i'm pretty loyal to ibanez instruments) The thing i like most about it is how it sounds plugged in. it's exactly what i want it to sound like. the thing i like least is the big AE on the headstock and the size of the frets. i don't know why the AE thing bothered me, but it did at first. the neck is kind of round, but i like it. The frets are the first thing i'd change though. I would like them a little smaller.
Sound
the sound is very full. i play in a sort of acoustic indie band and i use a lot of mostly open chordings. i've never had a problem with overpowering notes or anything.
Features
the built in flange is great. its really subtle and adds a really smooth sort of watery sound that still allows every note to ring how i'd want it to. beautiful.
Quality
I bought mine used so i can't really say how everything was out of the factory. but they come with Elixer strings (beautiful thing). I don't have any problems with mine for reliability. Good road guitar but i suggest keeping a harcase. it's not made poorly just softbags have lead to the death of too many beautiful guitars. Make sure you have batteries though b/c you don't want to play this thing on low batteries.
Value
yes. very much so. it's not the price of a great taylor but it's a great sounding guitar. i get everything i want out of it.
Manufacturer Support
no idea how ibanez is with warrenty. i'd imagine if you buy it new they would take care of it though.
The Wow Factor
the color suits me perfect. it's a darkish purple which goes well with many colors i wear on stage (blue, black, brown or burgandy).... my friend pointed that out for me. it's an ibanez (i grew up with these things so i have a genuine love for them). it's a great acoustic electric that looks feels and sounds great. if this guitar was stolen i'd buy another one without shopping around for something different. i love this thing. The closeness of the strings makes my life a lot easier. i do wish the frets were a bit smaller though. just a little bit.

"Best Acoustic/ELectric guitar out there."
I'll be playing this guitar until i cant anymore.. and it'll probly last that long too.
Sound
I played a $2000 Gibson acousitc before i found this one at Guitar Center, and i liked the sound of this Ibanez much better. I love the sound, unplugged and through an amp, and ive only had it for a couple of days.. I can't wait to start recording.
Features
This guitar has a built in tuner, which i didnt notice till i had the guitar at home and had been playing for a while, its incredibly useful for me because i ahte tuning my guitars with a normal one. I love the tone and volume controls found on the guitar, theyre round instead of the faders found on most acoustic/electrics.
Quality
This guitar has no cosmetic blemishes, and looks great. My friend picked up a fender acoustic on the same day i got my Ibanez and took it home only to find a big crack in it. The guitar looks and feels great and was definitely worth the money.
Value
Like i said, this $350 guitar sounded much better than the $2000 guitar i tried out, it's a great value and its worth every cent.
Manufacturer Support
I havent had to use the service so i dont know anything about it, but everything else is so great i just gave this a 10 to keep the average up.
The Wow Factor
The gloss black finish of the body and the neck keeps this guitar looking sleek, i liked the AE design on the headstock that some people had problems with, and the flames top it off to make this one beautful guitar.

"There are two kinds of guitar players: 1) owners of the Ibanez AEF18 2) suckers with thinner wallets"
I could be satisfied with this product (assuming no further technological breakthroughs in the area) forever... The only reason I would get another acoustic guitar would be solely on the basis of appearance/name/signature guitar... If I had the money I would have a room full of guitars simple because I would be a collecter, and its a stretch to say I would still only play this guitar, I can say that no matter what other guitars I may eventually own, I will not stop playing this one...
Sound
When a major guitar chain opened in my area, I went down with no intention of buying a new guitar. I owend both an electric guitar and an acoustic (niether cost over $150) at said time, and eventually I wanted to splurge on an expensive well known acoustic 12 string, but I certainly couldn't afford the 12string of my dreams on that day... To make a long story short, I walked out of that new guitar store with an instrument that met every criteria of my dream 12sting. That instrument was the Ibanez AEF18. I go to that same guitar store every Wednesday evening and play any number of guitars (just messing around), and have been doing so for the past 6 months (since it opened)... I am yet to play a guitar of any kind that "pound-for-pound" matches my AEF18, when comparing significant features (tone, sustain, looks, feel, action, etc...)... I get a thick rich unwavering sound from this 6string that beats many much expensive 12strings. Plus it looks great, and its thinner body design makes it very comfortable and just so so easy to play... I would have paid $600 - 700 for this guitar... It is an unrivalled steal at this price...
Features
I am not overexaggerating when I say that everything on this guitar has held up well and I have probably played it (on average) 2 hours a day / for the last 6 months... Now only about a third of that time have I had it amped up, but nevertheless... It still has the same factory strings on it which sound jsut as good today and they did prior to me banging on them for 6 months...
Quality
The only (tiny) problem I had with the instrument is that the pinhead(?) on the fourth string pin just seemed to fall off one day (as opposed to having directly hitt it while playing...) But it was nothing that a little superglue couldn't fix and I was planning on getting some new ones (black, instead of the factory white) the first time I restrung it anyway... And that is just a personal cosmetic preference, and not a complaint of the products hardware,
Value
It is unmatched for the price... Just get it and you'll see what I've been talking about...
Manufacturer Support
Have not dealt with the company...
The Wow Factor
Well, I don't know that I could judge its "sex appeal(?)" because I have never "lusted for any piece of gear" but, I can say this; I bought the black one, and when I have it sitting on a cheap guitar stand in the corner of my livingroom/den, it is the nicest looking piece of 'furniture' in the room. Perhaps I need to mention that all the other furniture in the room (while family hand-me-downs) originally came from yuppy-snobby stores like The Pottery Barn and Pier 1)...

"Black guitars are sexy!!! (according to my wife)"
Well, given the satisfaction that I have had with my Ibanez electric (12 years now) I would be willing to bet that I will not tire of this guitar.
Sound
This guitar is great. It has a nice mellow, almost classical sound when unplugged. But still has that steel string ping to it. Plugged in, it is awesome. I tried some Martins and Taylors, but their sound was a little too dead when plugged in for my taste. This Ibanez is bright and peppy, but the electronics make it versatile.
Features
The EQ and brightness controls work wonderfully! The flame/two tone wood rosette is eye popping!
Quality
Construction is solid, but as usual with any low to mid price guitar, there are a few tiny flaws in the finish. Mostly around the binding edge. Nothing worth complaining about though.
Value
This guitar is an awesome value. Plays better than the $800 Takamine I was going to get!
Manufacturer Support
Haven't had to use them. Hope I never do.
The Wow Factor
MMMMMMM...Sex appeal! So, my wife says black acoustics are sexy. Who am I to argue? And when people walk up to it and see the wood flame rosette, they are like all, "Oh, Neato!"

"Very Sexy and Sounds"
As far as accoustic Electrics are concerned. This is all I need.
Sound
This guitar sounds good plugged and unplugged. A tad thin sounding unplugged, but very full sounding plugged.
Features
The guitar came with good features: fishman pickup, AEQ Preamp, Diecast tuners, ivorex saddle (making for nice low action).
Quality
Factory control was good for my guitar. I haven't noticed any flaws in the finish nor the workmanship.
Value
IMHO this product is probably the best in this price range. I compared it to Fenders, Washburns, and Epi's, But the sound and play ability won out.
Manufacturer Support
Never dealt with customer service. But the web site is very informative.
The Wow Factor
Very sexy guitar

"Great sound and value."
I would buy this guitar again.
Sound
Plays beautiful. Unplugged, its a tad weak on the low end, but mid tones, high tones, and chords sound absolutely stunning overall. It has a well balanced sound. Plugged, a slight increase in bass remidies the low end accoustic deficiancy with ease, and you really dont have to put forth much effort to sound great.
Quality
Top notch. Finish was excellent(I have the black model). Guitar arrived tuned to perfection, and ready to play.
Value
In this price range , under $400, it has no competition. The only other guitar that even comes close at under $500 is the Takamine EG531SC. Though, the Ibanez AEF18 has better sound than that one too, IMO. After playing several dozen guitars under $1000, this is the best playing, lowest priced E-A guitar.
Manufacturer Support
I havnt had to use it, but I have heard good things.
The Wow Factor
This guitar cant help but stand out. It really is a fine instrument. The fell in love with the black, but the violet was very nice too.
