"A worthy addition to your studio"

It's a worthwhile replacement for MD recorders and can stand in place of a DAT recorder...the big bonus here is that whatever you record on this can be played back on ANYTHING: you car stereo, a home system, computers...you get the idea. Try that with a DAT or MD!
Sound
What can I say? It gives you back exactly what you put into it...no noise, no distortion, nothing added, nothing subtracted. If you do your job in creating a good signal to feed into it, it will give back a perfect CD recording.
Features
It has pretty much everything once could ask for on a recorder. The RCAs make it easy to connect to a DJ system, and the coax/SPDIF jacks are good for home theater systems, although I do wish it had XLRs to more closely match pro audio systems like sound reinforcement. Of course, that's why they make the BurnIT PLUS, but I didn't feel like spending the extra money, it isn't that hard to make things go together.
Quality
The fit and finish are impeccable, and the purple front panel is gorgeous. Controls and switches have a good feel. It uses a little too much plastic for pro audio, and the sheet metal used in the chassis and cabinet is noticeable thinner than I am accustomed to in Mackie, Peavey, Behringer, etc. I might call it consumer grade construction, but today's consumer gear is REALLY built wimpy. Older consumer gear is closer, I would say that this machine is about at the level of DJ equipment construction-wise. I think it would be crazy to take this out on the road without rackmounting it or using a custom carrying case. Actually I would recomment rackmounting it even if it stays in the studio.
Value
It's at a price point that would make you reconsider if you were thinking about gettting a DAT or MD recorder.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't needed any help because I haven't had any trouble with the machine. The company website has lots of information, even a downloadable manual in case you lose your copy.
The Wow Factor
How can you resist the alluring metallescent purple front panel! The highly informative and readable display, and professional-feeling controls make it a very tasty item.

"Piece Of Junk!!"

I gave it a 3. Hey! The color is nice.
Sound
The converters in this thing are el-cheapo. They must be cause for supposedly "cd quality" sound it's not all that impressive. I think the design and developmental team for hhb needs to go back to school. It's a far cry from being a pro piece of gear.In all actuality this burner is a piece of s#*t. It's garbage and doesn't even burn true "red book" cd's. 1/2 the disks i burned don't even play on other equipment. It's hit or miss. The burner in my pc is 100x more reliable. Don't waste your money on this toy. Buy a Sony or Tascam cd burner if you want a good product.
Features
Not worth the price!
Quality
The worst i've ever seen or heard.
Value
I might pay $10.00 for it but even that would take some thought.
Manufacturer Support
Don't know. They never respond.

""Awesome recorder," says a professional audio engineer."

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars

This is literally the best there was. Too bad it has been discontinued.
Sound
The last reviewer is just trolling for comments. The HHB recorder is really good. It even has mic preamps built in, so it is the perfect mobile recording solution for anyone who uses CDs.
Ease of Use
It is easy and intuitive. It works quickly, and is always ready to record.
Quality
The quality is very good. I've never had any problem with it.
Value
It is comparable to the Sony unit. Equal in everyway, but much easier to use.
Manufacturer Support
I've never needed to deal with the company. My unit is perfect.
The Wow Factor
It is purple. Are you kidding me? That is great.
