"Single guitar stand and double guitar stand."

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
I expect to be using this product for a long time. I have several instruments and when performing, I can switch out easily.
Sound
N/A
Features
Holds very secure and you can get your guitar off of it quickly by raising up on the guitar. The 2-guitar holder has wider feet for stability and just as easy to use as the single guitar stand. Also, I use the double stand for guitar and mandolin. No problems with using different instruments on the same stand. Obviously the mandolin is much lighter than the guitar, but still everything stays put. No tipping over problems.
Ease of Use
Very easy to use.
Quality
No problems with any of the working parts. Very well made.
Value
Priced fairly, considering other products and how much better this is made.
Manufacturer Support
Never had to deal with support on these stands.

"Strongest man? Meet strongest stand."

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
This stand is amazing- yes, it's just a stand, but it's one heck of a stand. Highly recomended!
Features
Non-marring rubber and foam, locking height adjustments, automatic locking cradle... this is THE perfect guitar stand. It is the only stand I trust on stage!
Quality
High quality metal. This thing won't bend, chip, or slip.
Value
This is the one thing- it's pricey. $30 for a guitar stand!?!? To me, it was worth it, but I understand why some people will stick to the $12 models.
The Wow Factor
Looks very cool. Yellow/black color scheme works for me.

"Doesn't snag your strap!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I love the one I have and will eventually buy at least two more.
Features
I love it. I have a roundback guitar and this stand works great. It is easy to adjust the height to accomodate my electric guitar or my bass. I want to buy more of them for the studio.
Quality
I have used it for over a year and it works as good as new.
Value
It was a little on the spendy side, but it really works.

"Dont want to bother wasting my time anymore...thanks for ruining my guitar"

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Overall I give it two thumbs down and two middle fingers up
Sound
there is no sound
Features
Well I bought this stand about 5 months ago and loved it from day one. I own a Jackson Randy Rhoads Pro issue which was over a grand just for the guitar alone and it looks great on it. Now I am reading other peoples reviews and notice they are talking about the finish coming off their headstocks and when I read those I ran to my guitar and saw the same DAMN thing! DO NOT GET THIS STAND if you care about your guitar. Who is going to pay for everybodys tainted guitars??????? The foam damages your guitar so dont get it! LIARS!!!!!
Ease of Use
Yeah eay to use at least
Quality
This stand is built good but like i said ....if you have a nice guitar dont use it
Value
The price doesnt matter because I would pay anything to keep my guitar healthy.....but look what happened anyway.

"A great stand, but watch out for that foam..."

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I really like this stand but as others have pointed out, the foam is not really safe for all finishes as it's advertised. I use this stand for my Les Paul clone, and there are tiny little "acne" spots where the foam comes in contact with the top of the neck where the headstock blooms out. They are very small and hard to see, and it hasn't burned the finish completely off as another reviewer has reported, but something will have to be done about that foam. Otherwise the stand is excellent, and I would definitely buy another.
Sound
The aluminum tubing/foam combo give this stand a unique resonance with tons of sustain. Just kidding.
Features
What more could you want? It holds the guitar, locks the headstock in place automatically, and the length of the stand is adjustable with a simple spring-loaded lever, as is the back support. Very nicely done. My only gripe is with the foam used to cushion the headstock area and the back of the guitar. It is supposed to be safe for all finishes. -2 for that - I'll explain below.
Quality
Very well built, it will definitely hold up. The brand is called "Hercules."
Value
They're a bit more expensive than a basic guitar stand, and the quality and features reflect this in the price. It's still a little too expensive for a stand.
Manufacturer Support
Never had to deal with them.
The Wow Factor
It's different, and it looks nice.

"If you care about your guitar's finish, DO NOT BUY THIS STAND!!!"

Overall: 0.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
Great design, and concept I really like the pressure sensitive locking mechanism, but flawed materials. The SFF foam is hazardous to a guitar finishes health. It certainly was damaging to mine!
Features
If you have a guitar and you DON'T want the finish damaged, then DO NOT BUY THIS STAND!!! I got this stand on Monday March 7, 2005 at 5 p.m., put my vintage '85 G&L L2000 bass in it and let it hang over night. It did look really good in the stand I have to admit. But to my shock, the next day when I picked up the bass to play it, the finish had been completely burned off on both sides of the headstock where it had been hanging in the stand. I mean the glossy finish was completely burned off! Looked almost like someone had put a cigarette lighter to it. The manufacturer says its "specially formulated foam" or SFF is safe for all guitar finishes. That claim is definitely NOT TRUE. If you want to protect your guitar's finish, then don't put it in this stand!
Quality
I would have given it a "10." It's well made except for the SFF foam that WILL DAMAGE YOUR GUITAR'S FINISH!!! Since it damaged mine after less than one day of use, I'm giving it a "1" for WORST.
Value
If it damages your guitar's finish as it did mine, it is not worth buying at any price!
Manufacturer Support
I'm confident I will get my money back for the stand, but that's little consolation after what happened to my bass guitar's finish.
The Wow Factor
Would (and did)have great appeal initially, but the foam damaged my bass guitars finish after less than one day of use. As you can tell, I'm more than just a little upset...

Hercules GS414B Stand Customer Review

Overall: 0.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I gave it away to Goodwill.
Quality
This is where the stand sucks. There are two main problems. First, as mentioned by others, the padding takes the finish off the quitar at the head stock. I had a new Gibson ES335 in the stand for less than a week before I noticed burns in the finish where the padding grabs the neck. Second, the closure grips can scratch the neck if you remove the guitar from the stand too quickly.
Value
All in all, this stand should be illegal to sell to anyone who has a guitar that is worth anything.

"Best guitar stand I've ever used!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
By far the best stand I have used. Sturdy, great looking, and foolproof. Good balance (i.e., nearly impossible to inadvertantly knock over), and easy and safe to use one-handed. One criticism (and the reason for the "8" in features): As with all other stands I've seen, the manufacturer uses polymer-based foam, known to chemically damage instrument lacquers if left in long-term contact. This damage is not theoretical--It has happened! If you own one of these stands, wrap or cover the foam parts with fabric.
Sound
Silent--as it should be!
Features
One-piece design, grab and lock at the head stock is great, fully adjustable, fully locking telescoping parts.
Quality
Built like a tank
Value
Considering this is probably a lifetime purchase, this is great value.
The Wow Factor
Looks and feels the solidest of all stands I have seen/tried, and it is aesthetically appealing.

"Read this before you buy any other stand!!!!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Best guitar stand I've ever owned.
Sound
It doesn't make any sound at all... not one bump or squeak!
Features
The "head" gravity lock is great, and suspending by the neck allows for even odd body shapes. Plus, the balance is such that it's the most stable stand I've ever seen.
Quality
Quality through and through... I just wish the "collar" at the top of the tripod was black instead of yellow...
Value
It's a bit more expensive, but absolutely worth it. The features and quality far outweigh the price.
The Wow Factor
It puts your guitar on display... what else can I say?
