I had a Wunkay when they first came out in 1980. It was so good I hung up my Rick 4001. It blew away any P Bass I had played in the ‘70’s and was built to an amazing level. When Zzounds became a dealer I was happy to buy this Pharaoh gold CLF from them. Straight out of the box it was set up well and played great. I’ll dial it in when I but on a new set of strings. For now, I’m just happy to play a G&L again. The build quality is spectacular, the metallic gold paint looks deep enough to dive in, the Chechen fingerboard is beautiful, the width of the maple neck is right between a P and a J bass in terms of width and it’s just sooooo much better a bass than either of them. I’m saving up for an L2000 and I’ll be set for just about anything.
