I bought this guitar on a whim for maybe just an instrument to set out on a stand so all my other much more expensive guitars don't get scratched or knocked over.Upon it's arrival I honestly only hoped for 399.00 it would be at least playable and sound half way decent.Well they say. you get what you pay for... in this case your getting considerably more than you pay for.The fit and finish is very well done. The satin open pore finish lets the body wood breath nicely and it resonates very well. The satin finish on the neck makes it very easy to play. The action was a very tiny bit higher than I like but certainly not unreasonable. I set it at 4/64ths at the low E and 3/64ths at the high E and a tiny turn of the truss rod and bam it plays great. It has no buzz, bad notes or fretting out anywhere. The action was at 5/64ths at the low E and 4/64ths at the high E from the factory. The bowed back really helps this OM body have some considerable volume. The tone is balanced pretty good. A decent low end and a full midrange punch with a pronounced higher end which.is common with a mahogany back and sides guitar. The solid Sitka spruce top is very tight grained with only the smallest of run out in the grain. A new set of strings and it sounds very nice .The open back Guild tuners hold tune very well and are amazingly tight and accurate. The bone string nut was cut perfectly and you don't usually find that on a guitar in this price range. The AP1 pick up system really suprised me. It reproduces the natural tone of this instrument very good. It is a bit of an issue to adjust the tone or volume when playing but if you set it right before you play, it is just fine.No sharp fret ends. The frets are finished very well. I only took a half of a star off because of the set up out of the box under ease of use but for some the factory setting might just be fineSo at the end of the day for a mere 399.00 I got a very good guitar that I feel I can play in any circumstance. The supplied Guild gig bag is more of a foam soft case than a flimsy gig bag which was nice too see.As usual Zzounds is the best on-line dealer period ! I have been buying from them for many years now and I have NEVER had any issues. Excellent service and bullet fast shipping every time.

This guitar stands up against and the Guild guitars I've played. Just a great company with standards. I usually play fingerstyle but this beauty sounds angelic in and style no matter what youre using to play. You couldn't make this thing sound bad if you played with a bad penny. Love it. I am a believer now!

I have always been a huge fan of anything Guild makes. I finally was able to purchase this beautiful guitar and it has been inspiring. The tone of the guitar is amazing, the pickups are amazing and I've already used it in a session. If you're looking for a guitar, stop where you see Guild.
