This beauty arrived perfectly set up and ready. The neck is as smooth and fast as all Gibson guitars are known to be, and it is no exception here. It literally plays as easily as a any Gibson acoustic six string. Every note is true all the way to the top frets, the tone, unplugged is shimmery, but less metallic and more quiet in comparison to a Guild Acoustic 12-string. The real fun and pleasure comes when it is plugged in. The range of both tone and volume that can be dialed in with the built-in Baggs pick-up system is seriously incredible (I plug into a Fishman). I do not see how there could possibly be a more playable acoustic 12-string out there anywhere. This instrument is way more than a beautiful facade. I would rather see these guitars in the hands of people who love playing guitar, a crime really for any of them to be in the hands of a non-playing collector (simply how I feel about it, no offense intended). Obviously a once in a lifetime purchase, hopefully with a fortunate, grateful being to pass it down to at the other end of the journey, and I pray may that lucky one love to play guitar as well!
