This guitar comes in many extravagent varities and the prices go up with it. I purchased the Gibson J-200 Studio at zZounds and got the best deal, I highly recomend this company. I have purchased 3 Martins at zZounds as well and they have always delivered on price and service! Back to the Gibson, The Gibson Studio model ( J-200) is the least expensive version of the Gibson Super Jumbos and the next step up is the Standard Model which has the frilly artwork on the pickguard, which I personally do not care for, it does however have gold tuners versus chrome but over time the gold plating can oxidize and they do have back & sides of Eastern Curly Maple versus the Studios Plain maple, (I'm told no sound quality difference, just better looking), I think the plain maple looks incredible though, its quite stunning, nothing "plain" about it. The extra money for the standard also gets you abalone in the bridge but again makes the overall look fussy versus classy in my opinon. From the Studio to the Standard then you have the True Vintage model, Montana Gold model, Pete Townsend Model, and several Custom Models. So at $2,999, you are basically buying the same high quality Gibson Jumbo guitar with the same woods, same gorgeous mother of pearl inlays, and same built in Aura sound system as the other models that go to $5,000 and beyond! Sound is sweet and warm not as loud and booming as a Martin but a sound you will fall in love with. Perfect for studio recording, songwriting, and live performance. I was surprised how good it felt in my hands and how smooth the neck was making playabitity a snap! Easiliy the best playing guitar I have ever held or played! It looks of course, incredible! better looking in person than any picture you have seen. Backed by Gibsons famous original owner warranty. Nothing like it for the last 75 years!

Nicest acoustic guitar I've ever owned. Waited along time to get one , glad I did only problem I had is not buying nod 30 years ago . I didn't need bling . I played some more expensive models over the years in stores between Canada and the USA . Thus was worth waiting for . I love it.
