I have been very critical of Gibson as of late, (owned dozens) and swore I was done with the brand. But something just said 'try this' to me. Reluctantly I ordered from zZounds ( reluctant to order another Gibson, not reluctant to order from the great folks at zZounds, that is) , and it arrived in less than 18 hours. Ordered at 5:00 on a Friday, guitar arrived around 10am the next day. My my, flawless! Finish had NO orange peel, no tool marks, no uneven spots, no rough edges, just mirror like perfection! And get this: fret edges ( my biggest pet peeve) were absolutely perfect. No razor like fret ends, all rolled and finished great, like Gibson of old. Now the sound? Pure Rock and Roll! I play through a Hot Rod Blues Jr ( simple as can be) with no effects, just what tone I can squeeze from an amp and guitar. Since guitar has only one pickup, and one volume and tone knob, I was curious how many tones I could squeeze out or would this guitar be a one trick pony. Wow! Setting the amp where I want it for leads, with guitar full blast, then dialing back on volume, I found a sweet spot in just a few minutes. Then, if adjusted just right, the tone knob could almost be mistaken for a pickup selector switch, the changes were THAT distinct and dramatic! The fit, finish, intonation and action were 100% spot on when I opened the case. Not a single adjustment needed at all. Kudo's to Gibson and the new management team. The quality control seems to have made great strides and I am very pleased with this, so much so that I would buy this again in a heartbeat. Well done, Gibson! You brought an almost gone forever customer back from the edge of walking away with the stunningly great turnaround job you did on this one. Very pleased.

This is a very fine guitar. Fit and finish are excellent! Factory setup better than average... playable right out of the box! Amazing sound and electronics are superb!I expected a little better quality hardshell case (included in purchase), but beats a soft case/gig bag hands down!I'd recommend this guitar with enthusiasm!

Once I set up this guitar (truss rod, set bridge etc.) It is a joy to play. Won't go out of tune, and sounds great. The action is very nice and there is no fret buzz at all.

"SG JUNIOR IS A ROCKER"

This guitar sounds great. It has "that" sound from ac/cd to santana. Very nice classic rock sound with no frills. Plug in crank up and you're good, no pickup selector or coil taps or extra knobs to get in the way. Like all Gibson they come set up ok from the shop, but you will need to set this guitar up for sure. I needed to tighten the tuning peg nuts when I got it, that was sorta lame. But the sound and look and feel is great. Its a perfect "knock around" guitar as Angus would say. Even though it is a bit expensive... You're paying a premium for the Gibson branding. I would highly recommend this ax if you are looking for a P90 single bridge pickup style guitar... this is a top option. I try out guitars regularly from zZOUNDS and I will be keeping this one.
