Let me start off by saying that I recently purchased this guitar and have had a Gibson Slash J-45 for a year. Over the last week I have been doing side by side comparisons, by ear and recording. I can honestly say, hands-down, that the J 45, 50s Faded sounds so much better than my Slash J 45. The “faded” has a fuller, richer well rounded sound, with highl low and mids clearly present. My SlashJ-45 has almost no low end whatsoever, no thump, just mids and very pronounced highs, which is why I decided to try the Faded. I could no be happier. I do have one issue, it’s the amount of nitrocellulose on the Faded. I believe they could’ve added a bit more, when you compare the faded to the Slash, it’s night and day. I swear, the nitrocellulose adds a pond or more to the slash. It takes a bit getting used to, but the sound makes up for it all. It’s a very attractive guitar. It’s nice to see the wood grain in the Faded, that you don’t get to see in the Slash because of the heavy nitro coating on the Slash. I highly recommend trying this guitar.

Always skeptical when gibson makes little changes to their j 45 lineup. As I own a standard j 45..But this faded series j45 is a really phenomenal guitar.Has better resonance than my standard j45.And a bit more boisterous when you dig in with a pick.Ill have to attribute that to the much lighter nito finish.couldnt be happier with the guitar. May take me awhile to get use to the satin finish, .Although in the past ove polished a couple satin finishes out to a real nice semi gloss. May try it on this. But for now I'm just enjoying the beautiful tones coming out of this guitar. zZounds deserves plenty of kudos for delivering a greatly set up guitar. And their customer service is on par with sweetwater if not better.Always a pleasure dealing with zZounds. very informative & knowledgeable reps to deal with. Professional, and courteous.

This is an honest review coming from a real person not an AI robot. This guitar is very poorly made for saying made in the US that feels like a $300 guitar the tuning heads feel like cheap plastic like they’re gonna break when you turn them that sounds OK, but honestly, I’m returning this guitar because it was delivered and rough damage from FedEx and I would’ve returned it anyway after finding out how bad the quality is I will never buy another Gibson. I found a 15 year old Taylor 310 that is twice the guitar, but this is just my opinion, but this guitar was not worth the money by far
