I just got this guitar today and opened it up just a bit ago. My first reaction is WOW! In terms of quality control this one is perfect. Beautiful finish and smells of rich mahogany. The neck is a touch more rounded than my 2019 60’s Standard and I’m all about it. Wanted something a bit bigger in the neck but I’m personally not a fan of the 50’s neck, at least the ones I’ve played. The guitar is soo resonant! That was the big wonder for me and holy cow it has delivered! I can play this guitar unplugged late at night if need be and still get a strong projecting sound to enjoy. I’ll update this at some point in the future but first impression…. It’s gorgeous, resonant and feels fantastic! Gibson got this one spot on.

I was amazed upon taking this out of the box it came in. I have not put it down all afternoon. It is a gorgeous guitar for the price. I had to tune e and a strings otherwise it is perfect. You won't find a better lp for the price zZounds is selling this beauty for. Hand wired , orange drop caps , great weight and feel in hand , I love the neck. Easy to play. What more needs to be said. Get one , you'll love yours too.

I was a little disappointed with this purchase. I mean it's a nice guitar but in this price point it's I don't know I'll just tell you. There is red in the binding I a few places. I play old school metal. Danzig and the like. The pickups are real nice for clean but not that great for hard rock. The low just didn't chug very good. So I'm glad it doesn't have a PCB board. I've changed the pickups twice. First a Duncan custom 5. That was better. Then a very expensive set of the Antiquity JB/Jazz pickup set. They are just ok. They look great though. Next I'm going with a 498t and the matching neck. Not sure if it's a 490r or 496r. Any I bought them off reverb. I'm hoping that does the trick. I do love the playability and the way it sounds unplugged. But I can't get pinch harmonics on the A string 5th fret. I can put this down pickup my Jackson and get them just fine. So that is not good either. I bought this because I wanted a standard with a slim tapered neck not a big fat neck. So all in all this wasn't really worth the money and the search for replacement pickups. Probably should have bought the studio but I wanted binding and a satin finish on the neck at least.

Been playing at home for most my life.

Old school metal. Hard rock.
