I was born and raised on Fender guitars for most of my playing life, so when it came to considering a Gibson, the bar was set high. I briefly had a Les Paul copy years ago and liked it, so when it came time to purchase, the Les Paul was it. After much research I settled on the Les Paul Standard '50s Gold Top. I cannot communicate how nice a guitar this is. The quality of construction and craftmanship out of the box was amazing. There were no flaws in the build that I could note. No dings, dents, mismatched seams, painting or finishing issues whatsoever. The string gauge and setup for me was perfect. No adjustments necessary. Went to playing it as soon as it was unpackaged and the sound is amazing. Love the thicker neck profile. A truly high quality instrument for the price. I have bought 4 guitars and other gear from zZounds and have been extremely satisfied with my online shopping experience and their "pay as you play" program. The web site is easy, simple and secure to use. They are always communicating by email about your order and have yet to resolve any customer service issue. Very happy at this point and already looking for the next guitar!

I took a chance and bought the "Blemished" Les Paul Gold Top Standard. I received last week and I still have not found where it was Blemished? Finish is perfect, Tone is perfect, Not a scratch on it Stays in Tune and the Elegance of a Gibson is there. The only issue I have is I also own a few other Les Paul's and a Gibson ES-335 which since I received the Gold Top they just don't get used. Love the Guitar ... I have never not been satisfied with any purchase from zZounds. The Customer Service department goes out of their way to ensure a customer is satisfied with a purchase. Highly Recommend the Gibson and Highly Recommend buying from zZounds. Got me a Gibson at a Great Price, from now on I won't hesitate buying a Blemished or Open Box Item from zZounds.

I had bought a used Gibson les Paul standard 2008 a while back and sold it. was thinking of getting another used one, but I just had to try a brand new one and let me say good thing I did because the feel and playability is far better than a used standard. this guitar is beautiful and it plays amazing. do yourself a favor and buy new you won’t regret it. the quality is also really good the pictures on here don’t do it justice wait till you see it in person it’s beautiful in real life.

I've wanted a true Gibson for decades, since. I've enjoyed about 10, very capable (better each year) Epiphone Les Pauls since 2006, with no reservations whatsoever. As timing would have it - 2019 would bring a new generation of both product AND thinking at Gibson. Couple that with this incredible price point, and a newly introduced 18-month Pay To Play from Zzounds, and we have the perfect storm! Finally I am thrilled (understatement) to be in the Gibson Les Paul family, and in such a HUGE way with this gorgeous, simply astounding 50's ***iconic*** Gold Top. Some things JUST FEEL RIGHT, and this one does. For any who are wondering about neck profiles amongst the varying LP models (50's, 60's, Traditional) - if you're not into SlimTaper, I'd highly recommend the rounded 50's - I best describe as a nice round, beefy-but-sensible "C", but not the overdone "baseball bat" of the Traditional, and it's just that. If the 50's is intriguing to you at all - get one in any finish while you can. I'm 57, been playing on/off for 39 years, and I haven't been this excited about getting, receiving, and playing a guitar in my life.

This is the best Les Paul i have ever owned plan and simple , i Have now owned this for a little over a year and it gets played more than any guitar i own , it was rock solid i have always wanted the famous 59 Gibson Les paul but with the over 6k price tag it makes it tough to afford but Gibson hit it out of the park with this guitar its not cheap with the 2499 price tag but i would say to anyone that has always wanted that 58 or 59 reissue Les Paul but cant like me afford the price tag you should give this guitar a try

Just received my 50s gold top standard last week and I can honestly say it's everything I hoped it would be. Such an amazing instrument. They were out of stock for months but I checked back every day and with zZounds play as you pay my dream has become my reality. I paid for overnight delivery and recieved it the very next morning. Build quality is everything you would expect from gibson at this price point. Not so much as a fingerprint on her. Intonation was spot on right out of the box and she plays like a dream. Thanks zZounds!

From the moment I opened it I was impressed. I’ve always owned custom guitars, Baker custom guitar, Ovation custom build 6&12 string models, so this was my first “off the rack” guitar. I must be lucky because there were NO QC issues. I went over it with a fine tooth comb and it was flawless. Plays like a dream, sustains forever even compared to my Baker. Great intonation which I understand all Standards are Pleked before leaving the factory. Great CS from zZounds, I literally went to the last minute choosing between Goldtop and Cherry sunburst and I couldn’t be more satisfied. After 50 years I have ave a real “Paul”.

I have this guitar. It is my best guitar and I have a Fender Custom Shop Strat. I did buy I Fender Telecaster Thinline from zZounds. I ordered it at noon and was in my hands at 1 PM the next day because they have warehouses all over the USA. Zero issues out of the box. zZounds is always the fastest shipper. My guitar teacher agrees. I love these guys.

This guitar ROCKS, it's an iconic guitar that I feel privileged to own. I have always wanted a 59 but the price tag is a little high for now and so I decided to go with the 50s standard and I'm blown away.

This thing is a monster. Gibson really nailed it with this one. I don't know if each one has it's own unique tone like the R9's but this thing screams. I promise you will not be disappointed. My only complaint is I wish I would have got it in Burst.

"So dissapointed......"

I am on Les Paul # 5. I have had numerous instruments come in with issues. Binding, finish issues, damage under pickguard, poorly notched saddles, crooked tuners, sloppy glued necks..... I eventually decided a PRS was the better route for me and I am not dissapointed in that decision one bit. You can tell the quality difference in the PRS big time ! My salesman Jeff L helped me find the perfect one and I couldnt be happier. I still want a Les Paul but its hard to keep paying Gibson money when they clearly dont care. Reaching out to their customer service team was a joke. No response to my email and when I call, they have excuse after excuse. The Les Paul sounds great but the cosmetic issues are kind of a joke. zZounds has been unreal at handling the issues and has been lightning fast at getting me a replacement, You cant go wrong with zZounds!
