"Gibson finally gets the Les Paul Standard right!"

I have owned many guitars through the years, Fender Strats, Telecasters, Epiphone Masterbuilt, Gretsch Dbl Jet and a couple of Gibson Les Paul's Classics and a 2014 Traditional. I must say, that the new Gibson Les Paul 50's Standard AAA Flame Top is the best guitar I have ever owned from a quality of build, materials and sound. Period. This guitar not only looks like a piece of art, it plays beautifully, very, very, very happy with this purchase. If you like Les Paul's, this is the one you have been waiting for.

"What a Les Paul should be.."

I've heard mixed things about the new Les Paul line, but this one is definitely what a Les Paul should be. The neck is nice and thick, feels just a hair smaller than an R8 neck. Right out of the box this thing plays amazingly. Its got great tone. These are the Alnico II burstbuckers so they aren't as hot as some other Les Paul pickups, but you get some great sounds, think Pearly Gates pickups. Definitely a blues/classic rock machineAs far as QC goes, everything looked great on mine. The only complaint I had, and it seems to be a recurring theme, the fret board was super dry. I conditioned it once and then conditioned it again a few days later and its where its supposed to be now. Other than that, the finish looks good, no overspray on the binding or anything like that. The flame top is absolutely gorgeous.Overall, this is what an Les Paul should be. I owned a 2012 Traditional Pro and looking back, it felt like a cheap knock off compared to this one. Feels good and sounds great.

"So much for QC......"

First up whoever scraped the binding obviously has an eyesight issue. Whoever let it pass QC must be related to the scraper.Next up there's a high spot on a the 16th fret which makes basic set up impossible as-isFinally there was some serious bow in the neck. Like far too unusual for a guitar built in late November and arrived at my house in December. It had to have left the factory with a bow.The guitar does sound fantastic. I've got 4 other Les Pauls('75-'16) and this one has a sound of it's own, but the others had zero QC issues (3 of the 4 were bought brand new).Took it to my guitar tech and he'll fix it up- just add another 2-3 bills to your purchase price. I would have returned it for another but I have no faith in Gibson's QC on the next one either so I'll just pay the extra to my tech to get it up to playability- though I really question why I'm keeping it in the first place at this price point. Pretty sure I won't be adding a 60's version to my collection unless an impeccable version ends up at my local shop so I can check it out in person.

I have been playing guitar since 1978.I have owned MANY Les Paul's since I got my first for my 16th birthday day in 1980.Recently, I had been an advocate for heavy LP's weighing over 10 lbs.But this newest 50's LP only weighs 8 lbs. It's got a beautiful top with plenty of flame and lots of dark cherry burst. The neck is like a Louisville slugger bat.I like it like that. Big hands. Big neck. The pickups are medium hot, very crunchy, with good clean tone on low volume. It is perfectly balanced.I am in love again. Her name is Gibson standard.Dude, it's worth the money. Buy it.

I couldn't be happier with my new Les Paul! It arrived in flawless condition factory sealed from Gibson and the AAA flame top is stunning! It took me a long time to find one with a flame top pattern this nice and zZounds made it easy with their new serial number specific photos of the guitars. I also just want to say that zZounds pay as you play payment option was a huge help in allowing me to purchase a dream guitar. This was a great experience and zZounds has a customer for life with me!

When you pick up this guitar you get a feeling of what a quality instrument it is. There's an aire about it that it's a finely crafted work of art. It played great out of the case, after tuning, and plays so dang easy! And there's nothing clownburst like with this heritage cherry in person. It's a great look! I cant recommend this guitar enough. Sustain for DAYS!

Im on the road on tour and i swear I ordered this guitar from a Hotel lobby Mens Rest Room in a city i dont know the name of at first moment of office hours. Im im Bozman and the guitar 234200165 was shipped to my residence in Oklahoma and i wont see it for a month but I may have decided to just restrain and just keep this one sealed in its box for deep storage. Yes..this one will remain in its unbroken seal box as delived it is so beautiful and rare..it is the last mild thin band chevron pattern blem free AAA top we saw last. It is rare to have a mild AAA flame rather than the typical dramatic flame or wide band patters of tyipical AAA.. This one rearned its AAA grade due to clearity. Cemitry and blem free completion of mirrored 3 d mild thin band chevron stripes..its so nice it will be a boxed guitar for the futur. The future owners grandparents are not yet born...think of that..truth. The exclusive AAA top offerings are opertunitys and will be reconized in long term future values in 50 years.. Thank you once again for the great dream come true oppertunity from 12 month plans and fast shippment.
