I’ve had a lot QC issues in the past with SGs. This Les Paul came to me completely flawless. It was actually set up pretty good. I’m not sure if it was Gibson or someone at Zzounds. I’m very happy my purchase. The guitar came with a chunky neck, I’ve owned another Les Paul 50s and it had a thick neck, but not as thick as this one. I prefer big chunky necks. Very resonant. The binding is scraped perfectly, no chatter marks or any issues. Seriously, flawless! The belly cut is very pronounced, and the playability is excellent. Was able to get the actin down to (Low E) 3/64ths and (High e) 2/64ths (1/32).. the nut was the most impressive of all. Rounded off at the edges and polished. Almost shiney like a bone nut. Saddle radius cut perfectly, and fret board is nice and dark. Guitars are temperamental things, and have had the best of luck with Les Pauls, I would highly recommended getting one. zZounds provides awesome financing options. You won’t regret it.

Just recieved this les paul today, OMG!!! Spectacular!!! no issues, low action, no buss anywhere. The set up and intonation is spot on. Awesome tone and the neck feel is perfect. The finish and QA are emaculant. This is my new #1. I own 4 other gibson les pauls and 2 epiphone les pauls and this one is the best. I believe Gibson is BACK!!!!! oh and the case is awesome too! very nice. I'm very picky when recieving guitars and I have to say there are absolutely zero issues with this one. I could not be happier.

This Les Paul is amazing ! The sound and feel right out of the box is the best I have felt and heard. The fifties style neck is just right, not too big and and it feels fantastic! My hands are only average size at best, but I fell in love with the way the neck fit my hand.Next the sound and tone are to die for! There is no weight relief in this guitar, it's solid body but it does not seem heavy at all. This standard 50's will be in my collection for many years to come. The new management at Gibson has done a great job and their products show their commitment ! Great job Gibson.........

Ok, I guess I will be the first to review this one. I have been trying to buy one from zZounds since they came out, but they sell out fast than you can pull the trigger on it. I finally was able to get one ordered two days ago and it arrived this morning. The finish is beautiful, just like a LP should be. I bought the heritage cherry sunburst. There is a small blemish on the side of the upper bout, but nothing to make me send it back or even bother customer service with it, as well as a tiny nick in the neck binding by the nut, but again, to me it is no big deal. Mine, is heavy, just under 10lbs. It is nice to see a non-wired ABR bridge, and the stop-tail piece is snug to the top. The action, out of the box was perfect as was the rest of the set up. it plays better than any LP I have, and I have a lot of them. I have heard people say "it is just a traditional" I can assure you, it is not. I have a traditional and side by side, the quality of this is noticeable. Now the sound, man, it has the classic PAF tone with sustain for days. I have not had time to really give it a good workout, but man, what I can tell so for, this thing is freaking nice. The neck it chunky, it is about the same as my 2016 50's tribute neck only a tad smaller, but thicker than my 2017 traditional neck. The neck feels really comfortable to play. It comes with the normal leather strap, multi-tool and other case-candy, but they also send a blank truss-rod cover in the case as well. I notice a big difference between the 2018's and this one. You can feel that Gibson paid more attention to detail. It hand wired, but it is modern style wiring, I figured they would have went with 50's style but that is no biggie. all-in-all, you cannot go wrong with this standard.

I purchased the "blemished" version for a discount (pickup selector operates backwards, but this is no big deal to me) and WOW what a guitar!I have been playing guitar for almost 20 years and this one hands down is my favorite I've ever owned or played. The sound is just vintage classic with the PAF style BurstBucker 1 and 2. I can't rave about the sound of this guitar enough. As a side note, this guitar is also the first I've ever owned where the middle pickup position is my favorite to play in. Try dialing back the neck pickup volume to 8.5 while in the middle position... perfect for those southern rock licks!!I can't stop looking at this guitar (the heritage cherry is my absolute favorite finish but I know it would be stunning no matter the finish!). I find myself distracted just looking at it all the time... my wife is jealous! This guitar has no weight relief and it just feels solid. The neck is chunky but it fits my hand perfectly. I've heard that it isn't quite as chunky as the original 58 or 59 LP but I think the neck size is perfect for my hands, which are pretty average or slightly above average in size.Did I mention that this guitar is the best sounding instrument I've ever played? It sounds exactly how you think a Les Paul SHOULD sound. No frills, NO ROBOT TUNERS, just sustain for days and mellow low end with a fuzzy finish in the neck and singing highs in the bridge - seriously, check out the middle position on this guitar too!!For 2500 dollars, I can say that you won't be disappointed. I wasn't.My guitar arrived set up very nicely and was very playable right out of the box.Let me repeat - 1.VINTAGE LP TONE FOR DAYS 2. STUNNING LOOKS AND PLAYABILITY 3. If you've got the means, GET ONE NOW!

Long time player, very happy with this guitar. Came ready to go, plugged in and was extremely impressed, high quality...not a single blemish, absolutely perfect. The tone is spot on...loved every setting. If I had to say anything at all negative, the neck is a bit sticky, but it's a brand new finish...no problem. Strongly recommend zZounds, great service, fast shipping, arrived double boxed. I truly don't like ordering online, but the ability to select from 6 guitars is a fantastic service zZounds offers.

I tip my hat to Gibson in Nashville for this exceptional quality hand built work of art. I have owned many Gibson Les Paul Standards and Gibson Historic Customs, however, not one of those can come close to this one. This is what we have been waiting for from Gibson. Outstanding quality and sound. If you are considering this guitar? You don't need to look any further for the best of the best because you are looking at it. zZounds will help you with their 12 or 18 month financing using your credit card so you can easily afford to play something most only dream of. Gibson is back and this guitar proves it! :)

This is the second 50's Les Paul I have purchased from zZounds. Now I have one cherry sunburst and one tobacco sunburst.I see these models as being Gibson collectors additions.I love all Les Paul's.They are without question the greatest of all electric guitars. We all know about the reputation. There are Fender players and then there are Gibson players. This latest model by Gibson is true to the Gibson tradition of luthier craftsmanship. It's got it all.The Kluson tuners. The tophat nobs. The cream binding, pick guard, pickup frames, and poker-chip on the selector switch. The clear finish on the mahogany back and neck. NO WEIGHT RELIEF. Then there is the lightly figured maple cap that is unique to each individual guitar. The beauty of the burst! As a longtime collector of Les Paul's, I highly recommend that you purchase one of these beauties. You won't be disappointed. zZounds is very accommodating to us when we want a guitar.Pull the trigger dude. It's gonna good!

Just received this today and it's perfect in every way. Fit and finish is perfect, and tone and play-ability are amazing. I chose a plain top and it's beautiful, even more beautiful than the pics.I went over this guitar with a fine-toothed comb and found none of the Gibson QC issues we all hear about. I really couldn't be happier with this!

I've owned a number of Les Pauls over the years and while I have a 2017 Standard HP it took a long time to find one that I felt was "good enough" as I had worked on a number of them with a myriad of issues. The past two years I have heard a lot of good thing and I had to sell my HCS Standard years ago so I decided to "take a chance" on a new 50s standard. There isn't really much to say... it was perfect right out of the box. No issues with binding, fretwork, finish etc... even the neck relief was set correctly and the action was spot on... from the factory. It's what I experience with my 1991 Standard and what I have always expected from Gibson, very happy to see that is what they are delivering now.Last point, the BB1 and 2 sound much different IMHO with the new wiring than they did with the circuit boards. Very pleased with the sound as well.

I’ve been playing for 52 years now. Owned many guitars. Two of which were Gibson Les Paul Standards. This 2022 is flawless aesthetically and more important, the tone, feel and playability perfect. The creamy, throaty neck tone is the tone I’ve had in my head for years. I have small hands but the 50’s neck is perfect, feels outstanding! The quality control is back at Gibson. I couldn’t be happier. Do yourself a favor and get one.

My mother passed away so i bought this Gibson Les Paul 50s spec with some of the money i got from her. It is my finale bucket list guitar i do not know if i got lucky or what but mine looks like it has AAA flame top and its very lively under the light. The overall quality of the guitar is great its very Gibson that is the best way i can put it. It feels and plays like a proper Gibson before the bad and shameful years. I always thought it was bull but whatever room you open this guitar up in will smell of nitrocellulose lacquer my room reeks of it and i dont hate that. I am not really a Gibson fanboy so i wont fanboy over Gibson. Everyone always talks about the 50s neck and how there fat but to be honest its not that fat maybe my 8 string ruined that feeling for me. At the end of the day it is what i expected a proper qc'd Gibson Les Paul to be a tone machine and i will be putting this here tone machine to good use. I always wanted a proper Gibson Les Paul Standard '50s spec in heritage cherry sunburst and now i own one. My Gibson Les Paul Standard '50s spec in heritage cherry sunburst sure does sound sweet i could not be more happy.
Sound
Big Thick Fat Tone !
Quality
Its a proper Gibson Les Paul this is how they should continue to make them. No bells or whistles just tone and quality.
Value
yes its worth the price any higher than 2,500 USD and i would say no.
The Wow Factor
The Gibson Les Paul Standard is the guitar you buy if you want a Gibson Les Paul Standard. There are other guitars brands that do the Gibson Les Paul sound as good as Gibson. But there can only ever be 1 Gibson and the experience you get with a Gibson is something other brands can get close to giving you but can not give you.

I’ve been playing 52 years now. My first Gibson was an L6-S which I loved dearly. Have had in excess of 20 guitars and my dream guitar was always a Les Paul. I could never justify spending the $. Fortunately for me, my kids gave me the greatest gift of my life. Beautiful as can be and the tone only a Les Paul can deliver. The tone in my head is finally there. Cherry Sunburst just breathtaking. Wonderful neck, great sustain. Absolutely the finest guitar I’ve ever played. Don’t question the price like I did for years. Treat yourself and enjoy!

I have owned this guitar for 10 months and the tone knob has fallen off with no replacement to be offered, although the guitar plays amazingly and quality set up right out of the case, for the money seems like some quality control is missed by Gibson (plastic nut, knob falling off). I still love playing this guitar and it sounds great. I guess nothings perfect. I am a working musician and play 2-3 times a week.

Ok, it’s a Gibson so it’s nice. Plays well and sounds great. But, the supposed AAA flame top was VERY disappointing. My Orville has a better looking flame top. And it’s veneer!!! But that aside, zZounds delivered as promised one 50’s Les Paul standard and I like every thing about except the spotty flame maple top. Considering g these are always on back order I should consider myself lucky to have gotten one. And again, it’s a GIBSON!!!

Went to the Gibson Garage in Nashville. Asked if they had any tobacco sunburst as I couldn’t see any on the floor. The salesman checked the back and they had on just come in. I asked to play it. It wasn’t even set up completely and it played and sounded amazing. Hadn’t planned on buying that day but I bought it on the spot.

This guitar looks great and sounds really good. My problem is it was set up properly. The high E string has a lot of fret buzz and almost sounds like a "ping" sound. The B and G strings aren't quite as bad, but they do the same thing. I expect better for such an expensive guitar. Now I will have to pay someone to set it up properly. It's a wonderful guitar. I absolutely love it. It's a Gibson Les Paul. I just wish zZounds had done their part.
