After much turmoil, I decided on the Classic Player Plus in Wine Red. I was going to go for the regular Classic in a Gold Top, but they were all out and they had a great price drop on the Player Plus. The other reason I went with this guitar was the specs said rounded neck. I was assuming it would be like my Traditional, but it is slimmer. Not as slim as a 60's slim taper, but... Anyway, after spending a few hours with it, the neck is not a big issue, I actually like it! As far as the quality, I have bought a 2015, 2016 and now a 2018 Les Paul. All of them had very minor, if any flaws at all. The only issue I had with this guitar is that the pickguard that was sent with it is for a guitar with Humbuckers, not P90's. I called zZounds and they are on it for me. Great customer service and support by zZounds as usual. Thank you zZounds and thank you Gibson!

Holy crap....FedEx just delivered my Sunrise Orange Classic Player Plus, and all I can say is WOW! I swear who ever is grading the maple at Gibson is smoking crack. There is no way this is a AA top, this thing has 4x the flame than my Traditional! It looks AMAZING! The p90's sound big and fat, with crisp top end, the satin finish is flawless, the neck is right in the middle of a 50's and 60's.....I could go on and on... this thing is killer. Yes it has a richlite fingerboard, but I cannot tell ANY difference in the playability between it and my rosewood board necks. If you are thinking of buying this guitar, don't hesitate. You will absolutely hate yourself if you pass on an American made Les Paul with a hard shell case for $1,199. Crazy Crazy deal! ZZOUNDS IS AWESOME!

Seriously tremendous guitar. Took delivery of mine today. I was worried, because it had shipped upside down. (The Gibson box inside the larger shipping box was upside down)Opened it up to check for damage, and couldn’t help but grin when I saw the top. I’m particular about figured tops: I don’t care for over the top flame, but this one was beyond a 2A figure. I reckon it’s about what you’d expect from a Standard. Guitar was fine, thankfully! The neck is nice and chunky (kind of medium) and the richlite looks stellar. I’ve heard that it isn’t as finicky as ebony or rosewood, and that it’s more stable. This means no fret sprout with the expanding and contracting of the wood. Looks just like ebony, too. Nice and dark. The action is a little high out of the box, as is the bridge pickup, but these minor adjustments are expected since they’re so subjective. Gibson and ZZounds knocked it out of the park with this. The bang for the buck is absolutely outstanding!

Hello Everyone:I waslooking for a P90 equipped guitar, and I was originally looking at a Gibson SG naked until I seen this guitar.A Gibson Les Paul that is not weight relieved, I think a Real Les Paul should have weight to it, so I ordered it.Out of the box it needed a setup, the action was too high. After some adjustments, I plugged it into my Fender twin reverb and this baby screams. The neck felt great and the tones were great both clean and distorted. My only complaint is the finish, the satin clearcoat hides the beautiful flame on the maple top, the wiring inside is the old style soldered one and not the cruddy pcb board. The fretboard being richlite is no big deal, Martin and other companies use it for fretboards, and it feels good playing it.If you are looking for a Les Paul with P90's, I highly recommend this guitar

I received my 2018 Gibson Limited Edition Les Paul Classic Player Plus w/case yesterday and have forced myself to put it down long enough to submit my review. Sunrise Orange is an amazing finish in person! It looks good on the webpage but in person is quite astounding. This is my 2nd Gibson Les Paul and my 1st with p90 pickups. They sound amazing! The quality is top notch, the white binding adds a classy touch against the bold Sunrise Orange finish and the top is phenomenal to look at. It cannot possibly be a 2A top with the amount of figuring going on. It moves and increases with the light. The satin finish really helps set it all off and feels comfortable and durable as well. The neck feels great and relaxing to play. I’m digging the richlite fretboard and look forward to see how it endures the humidity here in Iowa come summertime. Gibson and zZounds are an unbeatable team with items like this Les Paul! Mine arrived a day ahead of schedule and the whole experience from start to finish has been top notch to say the least!

Way to go Gibson nailing this one. I ordered this for the p90’s and boy am I glad I did they scream! As far as fit and finish top notch and QC was fantastic. Opened the case tuned it up and it’s spot on. I own several Gibson’s and this ones by far the best out of the box even better than my traditional sadly! Zzounds was fantastic as always and had it here in a Day. Give this screaming Les Paul a go you won’t be disappointed.
