Sound
Great tone, monster sustain, zero hum on my Marshall stack turned up to 10. Very versitile; many different types of sounds are achievable.
Features
I'd like to have tone controls for both pickups, but it's a minor quibble.
Ease of Use
Setup was near perfect out of the box, finishing impeccable. The faded finish actually allows you to get around the neck faster; no "stick" like you can get with the polycarb finish. Also doesn't show fingerprints!
Quality
Amazing quality for the price, all the same build characteristics, parts, and materials as the standard V. Which is a very good thing. :)
Value
Amazing price for a sweet guitar. I can do without 20 coats of nitrocellulose and a hardshell case, which is the only sacrifice you make going with the faded version.
Manufacturer Support
No issues.
The Wow Factor
Do you like the V-factor body style? I sure do. Nuff said!

"A MUST BUY DEAL!!!"
Verified Customer
zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
This guitar is my best. Even so, I still expect to get more guitars, that is if your as serious about rock as me. NO ONE GUITAR SOUNDS THE SAME AS ANOTHER!!! But I think this will always be my favorite.
Sound
This guitar has the best sound I ever heard. I went into a music store and tried SG's, Les Pauls, Sratocasters, etc. when I played this guitar, I fell in love with it. I heard no problems and I played my favorite songs on it. I couldn't stop playing it. It sounded best on a Line 6 amp. This guitar seems to be able to play any style of music.
Features
Since you can't sit down with this guitar, they should of put some rubber on the bottom so it wouldn't slip. Other wise everything is aswome. With the strap on, it somehow lifts the neck a bit so it is easier to play, especially when soloing at the 17-22 frets.
Ease of Use
As I said before, you just simply can't sit down with this guitar, so if you hate standing up a lot, this isn't for you. But it isn't heavy at all. And also, when on stage, why would you sit down?
Quality
This guitar was made exellently. No problems at all. I didn't even have to change the strings when I got it.
Value
Is that a joke? I suppose if you don't mind a nice looking red/natural guitar, then this is a great deal.
Manufacturer Support
None needed.
The Wow Factor
After playing it in the store, I knew I had to have it. Too bad I didn't have money with me at the time. But I went straight home, back to the store, and took it home.

I just love playing, especially for friends.

"BACK TO THE FUTURE: THE FADED CHERRY FLYING V FROM GIBSON"
I expect this guitar to be a "keeper" for sure.
Sound
I must say this is the first guitar that I have picked up in a long time and actually been very impressed. This guitar has got all of the great sustain that a gibson is known for and then some. With a little overdrive this guitar actually has a very warm, very "brown" vintage sound. With the distotion pegged It screams with the best of them. The clean sounds have a nice warm round tone to them. Overall, this guitar SOUNDS like a gibson is "supposed" to!
Features
I Am very pleased with the entire guitar. I can't beleive this guitar was this cheap!!! The pick-ups seem to be very well mannered in all situations yet they can handle pretty much any distotion you throw at them and still have great definition. I also believe the finish has somthing to do with this guitars sonic magic. I believe a thin natural type finish like the one on this guitar actaully allows the wood to breath more and respond more naturally than one buried under 2 mils of finish. That's one of the things that give vintage instruments that certain sound. The finish on them is usually thin from age but it just does something for the tone. Look at SRV's #1 strat. Half the finish was worn off the thing, but it sounded amazing!
Quality
Fit, finish, action and tone are all top notch for a guitar in this price range. I actually think Gibson could easily double the price of this guitar and it would still be worth it.
Value
Absolutely worth every penny!
The Wow Factor
It's a flying V.....It has always been a bench mark of "coolness!"

"Great DEAL on USA made mohogany guitar!"
Verified Customer

I will be getting a second. This makes a great gigging guitar. It plays great and it's not a collectors museum piece so bringing to jams won't couse ulcers!
Sound
The sound is very good. The gibson pickups are great. It is the clasic mohogany and gibson pickups tone.
Features
It is what it is.
Quality
Very very good. For the low price on an American Made Gibson. The fret work I found to be really good. I was surprised how good it was. Finish work is good, but not as high as a top end custom shop, but hey...it's a lower end model. Better that almost every offshore guitar I've had in this price range.

Sound
Only two words. GREAT SOUND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Features
The Faded finish is tight!!!
Ease of Use
Hardly had to ajust anything just plugged it in and jammed!
Quality
Some people complain about sharp frets, but the one I played didn't it just depends on who constructed it at the factory.
Value
It's value is great. You look at it and think a Gibson for 579.99 something must be wrong. Hello its a Gibson.

Haven't had any experience with the company.

"The most Sex, Drugs and Rock'n'Rollish guitar there is!"
Features
it included a nice gibson case, some documentation and some tools. the most useful features are definately the controls, two tone knobs and a volume knob, like a fender. i wish i could split the pickups so i could have an even more singlecoilish sound. it's just the good old mahogany body and glued in neck what give it a great sustain and vibration, classic gibson style, just great.
Quality
the product is made great, handmade in nashville it is as good as it gets. it is the Faded series, a kind of relic thing. there are some dents made and the finish is worn so it looks like it has been used for several years, which i really like. everything feels really solid, its gonna last forever. i fully depend on it, i always have another guitar on stage, a fender, for some songs it just sounds better. it is made for use on the road, and it looks like it has already been on the road for years, which is a great aspect imo.
Value
i bought it for

"Over-Priced & Sloppy, but hey it's a Gibson!"
Verified Customer
zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
This is a fun guitar for the collection. I wouldn't bother replacing it. I still use Epiphones all the time, but I'm not so sure I will ever buy another Gibson. I was very dissappointed in the value and the overall lack of quality control. It seems strange to say it, but I'm convinced Epiphone does a better job at quality control for a lot less money.
Sound
The bridge pickup sounds great. Lovely powerful harmonics on double string bends. Real good hard rock guitar. I recommend the bridge pickup, however the neck p.u. leaves a lot to be desired. It's pretty weak. The stock neck pickup in my epiphone dot beats this thing into the ground. I don't really use it all that much, and in the three years I've own it, I've only used it twice in the studio, and that was just for the bridge pickup sound run through a boss metal zone pedal and then through twin marshalls. It worked fine for this particular recording application, but overall I find this guitar to be somewhat limited. I would recommend that the neck pickup be changed out for maybe a burt bucker or a 57 classic, but then we already shelled out for a Gibson didn't we. It's kind of dissapointing to chunk out $$$ for a Gibby and then find out that you'll need to cough up another $110 bucks or so, plus whatever a good guitar tech will charge to change it out.
Features
The gigbag is just a gigbag. fender and Ibanez will give you a better one.
The pickguard could have been much better. Mine came with a huge check list of all these different special Gibson inspectors, and yet the pickup seletor swithch on my guitar was falling out. Pretty sloppy. I guess the inspection checkoff list is just for show.
I also felt that the cheapo knobs and other hardware parts could have been a little better quality, but they are essentially no different than the stuff you get with guitars half the price of this outfit.
Quality
Personnally, I believe this to be a really bad example of Gibson workmanship. The wood block for the body has an odd cross cut flaw, but then it wood isn't it. The selector switch was loose as the retaining nut had never been screwed on. The nut needed a little attention as the high E groove had not been properly dressed. The neck pickup was off alignment. Resetting the misaligned pickguard corrected this problem. In summary: Over-Priced and Sloppy.
It should last a long time as I don't play it much, but by golly...I got me a Gibson Flying V.
Value
No, it is not worth the selling price. It is definitely not worth more than $300 to 400 dollar guitar tops.
Manufacturer Support
I would recommend upgrading the neck pickup.
The Wow Factor
It has asthetic appeal. It is most assuredly Not a technical marvel.
