I bought the last satin finish 235 and couldn’t be happier. Yes there was sawdust in the bag but that was not an issue for me. Out of the box the setup was good but conservative. I put my brand of string and my setup on it and wow. I used to own a 56 125 and this neck is spot on. Alittle thicker than my 70’s Paul and 345 but very playable.I play loud rock tuned a whole step down. This thing just said ok whatever. I would recommend this. I was looking for that mid ground between a Paul and a 335 and this thing fits perfectly.Only complaint is gig backs suck. I’ll be buying a case and apparently the 339 case fits..

"Awesome design, great neck - but too many factory flaws (Nashville - not Memphis)"

Just got this today from zZounds. It shipped fast and securely! zZounds is great. Gibson, however, I'm not so sure about. First, the good. The shape, weight, and neck on this guitar are amazing. Feels fantastic and love this design. Now the bad, first - the fit and finish of this are absolutely horrible and unacceptable. This is from the Nashville factory, not Memphis, so I don't know if they just don't know what they are doing yet. The entire top of the guitar is wavy with ridges all over it. It's not smooth at all. When you hit it at just the right angle of light, you can see these jagged ridges and waves throughout the entire top. It's not the finish, it's the actual wood top. It looks like they made some sort of mistake when they were steaming this top into shape. To add insult to injury, there are tons of little pattern scratches on the top lateral (right angles) to the wood grain. It's as if whoever did the final buffing on this didn't take it all the way through the higher grit buffing compound. I have seen guitars from overseas for 1/5th the price of this that don't have such horrible factory flaws. Aside from the poor fit/finish of this guitar, the tuners are of very low quality (they have too much 'play' before the gears actually engage - think Squier Bullet series), and the Burtsbucker Pro's were the absolute wrong choice for this guitar. BB Pro's are very bright pickups. This guitar has a maple neck (which is great!), a maple center block, and maple/poplar plywood - these are all already very bright woods. The guitar is great for distorted lead playing, but the pickups are too bright and shrill for anything clean. Bad choice for jazz, or rhythm guitar. Aside from that, I really love the neck and the design of this guitar. I hope I can exchange it for one without all the factory flaws. Once I get one without the flaws, I'll replace the tuners (to anything else, these are terrible) and the pickups (to Gibson Classic 57's). To sum up. Pros = awesome design, great neck, excellent fretwork, very well balanced! Cons = laminate top arrived warped with waves/ridges all over it, pickups are too bright, tuners are terrible. Gibson customer service "brand experience" absolutely stinks. Very unfriendly and they don't communicate with you. Luckily zZounds is great and I hope to get a replacement without factory flaws.

The quality was poor , fret issues , finish issues , saw dust in the case and more. Frer buzz and just not an $1800 guitar.
