Gibson 2018 Firebird Studio Electric Guitar (with Case)

The 2018 Firebird Studio offers tasteful beauty along with a killer sound. The all-mahogany construction and dual P-90 pickups produce a juicy midrange tone.

I’ve always played teles and strats, and I was skeptical about this guitar when someone suggested it. I was prejudiced one might conclude. But then I played the Firebird Studio. First, let me say that I had a true mystical experience around buying this guitar, too long to relate here, and it may not be the model ‘Firebird’- but then again, it might. In any case, I also thought that this guitar would be uncool- just a slab of mahogany, none of the bling of the Dragster models. But on mine the black pickups with the mahogany sunburst is subtle and rather classic. Something you’ll never get sick of. But this thing has mojo on the sonic front as well (as if that matters!) and the soap bar pickups give it enough single coil definition and clarity that I can just melt into the mahogany without infinite claustrophobia. Yes - I say yes. If you love teles but want to try a mahogany style guit, this one is very versatile- I could play this one guitar at most gigs. Cheers.

Very nice, even nicer to hold and play than I thought. The neck is smooth and fast, body sustains well and the P90 pups are incredible from clean to mean. Very classic timeless look, feel and sound, I love it!
