This Guitar Simply blows me away. I was extremely impressed with the pickup and the improvements on the frets. The only things I would up grade would be the Nut to a bone and maybe locking tuners; otherwise, this thing rocks. I don't believe I'm saying this, but Great Job Gibson!!

Well this guitar was a surprise. It plays perfect. And I own and have owned a wide variety of guitars. I have one main guitar I have used for probably over 30 years now. It is Japanese made and usually out plays everything. This Firebird after is gets some hours on it would become anybody`s main guitar. It is really that good! This Firebird and one of my Sg`s are the 2 best playing Gibson`s I have. Sad part is that these are not big $ Gibson`s. I have waste lots of $$ on expensive Gibson`s that came from the factory with the neck set wrong, Like on the Angus Sg I had. Lost alot of money on that guitar. So like me, I would give Gibson another chance. This Firebird is right up there with more expensive models for sure. It stays in tune. The harmonics are great. The machine heads are close together but that is just how it is. The case that came with the guitar I do not trust at all! The latches are very loose. It is too good of an guitar to have it fall out on the floor or worse while carrying it. But as far as the Guitar goes. Gibson did this one right. I am thinking about paying this one off and ordering another. That is how good it is.

Honestly, I've wanted a Firebird I for years, but they're extremely rare and hard to come by. Most non-vintage ones are Custom Shop and very pricey. When I saw ZZ offering them in 2 super rare custom colors (as well as the standard sunburst), I had to pull the trigger. Wow! What a killer rig. It's louder unplugged than some acoustics I've owned. The sustain from the neck-through design and wrap-around bridge is crazy! Still dialing in the mini bucker, but it's nice and crunchy with the gain up and still cleans up well. The best feature is the neck. The overall detailing is IMO Custom Shop level quality. Super fast with perfectly rolled fingerboard edges. Slim 60s style but with more width and substance than most others I've owned. To me, the neck was perfect right out of the box! I've owned tons of killer guitars, newer and vintage and this one stands up to all of them. I think my other guitars will be gathering some dust!

My first NEW Gibson experience, thank you ZZ! Guitar is better then expected.. will be replacing the nut and maybe the heads eventually. Tailpiece is cool with 10-46s so far and feels naturally new to me. I do have issues with the case
