I've played all the fishman modern pickups. Always absolutely loved the clarity and multiple voicing! But. I've always wanted them to sound like an emg81.That crusty old school midrange active sound with balls. This FINALLY nailed it. It's the closest thing to it. It's an emg 81 in High definition so freaking cool! Going to be adding this to some other one of my guitars. As for the other voicings and pickups. I don't really care. The neck is a bit more bubbly sounding than modern neck but nothing to write home about. If you want the best fishman bridge for metal this is it. Three voicings is amazing but I'm telling you, the bridge voice 1 is worth the price of admission alone. Happy chugging!
