"Great value, neutral sound."

These monitors seem very accurate, so for the price, they're awfully hard to beat. Fostex started as a speaker driver company, so their experience shows.
Sound
Nice full neutral sound -- great for mixing.
Features
Just a straightforward monitor.
Quality
VERY solid.
Value
I compared these to M-Audio BX5's and the Fostex won hands down. The M-Audio sounded tinny and harsh.
Manufacturer Support
I like Fostex support, but haven't used it for problems, just questios from time to time.

Features
The inputs are impressive, The XLR with the 1/4 in the center.
Quality
Had a small problem with one of the input jacks. One contact was not making connection at first. It has freed up with use..

Execellent value

"If you want quality sound in a smaller box but can't afford GENELECS, I would seriously audition these"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
For monitors of this size only GENELECS sounded better. In fact for the next size up the FOSTEX pm1's sounded very similar and the rest of the competition at this price point, lacked the refinement and long term use of the pm05's
Sound
For their size and price they are excellent. Nuetral and well balanced throughout the frequency range. They can handle the low end much better than one would think, looking at them. Best placed away from rear walls.
Features
Hardly any. Which is strangely reassuring! Volume, balanced xlr & trs jacks.
Quality
For the price they are very solid and sound refined.
Value
Serious studio monitoring can be undertaken with these. However, mixes would have to be referenced on larger systems for accurate bass and for a more broad sense of space between sounds.
Manufacturer Support
I have no idea yet!
The Wow Factor
sounds better than it looks. If you shop with your ears you will want it!
