I have been big fans of the Twin6s for a long time. Unfortunately my new space didn't really lend itself to such large speakers. I was skeptical that the Solos would be as good in the low end missing the extra woofer, but I was so impressed when I first fired them up and heard how full they sound. They definitely don't have the same low end as the Twins, but not by much. And if space is an issue I'm sure this is no problem that can't be solved with the addition of their subwoofer.Having said that the low end is plenty inspiring and easy to compensate for once you work with them for a while. And as someone who upgraded from much cheaper JBLs, these have saved me so much heartache when listening to mixes in my car. It's so much easier to get it right the first time and when I do hear a change it's much easier to notice and correct in a revision.My favorite feature, while underrated, might be their wide listening field. Some speakers have a very narrow listening location and when you move your head 1 inch they sound completely different and, frankly, I don't have the patience to find the perfect "listening zone". Maybe speakers like that might "sound better", I don't know and I don't care. I'm mainly a producer/songwriter and it's nice to be able to move around and have a largely similar listening experience.Focal does such an amazing job of combining accurate and inspiring speakers and these are no exception.
