I own the Scarlett 2 in 2 out. I'm only upgrading because there is no midi in/ out. Personally this day in age of music midi in/out is a new standard considering that most home/studio/available production involves keyboards and MPC's. But back to the one I have owned for 4 years has never had a malfunction. Although I had to adapt to the compressed sound I think it made compared to the avid fast track solo. Fast track was more analog/raw reproduction. Focusrite seems completely processed. Eq in the mids and lows carefully needs to be monitored during the mix down and mastering process. But over all, Focusrite is definitely a solid/quality product that I can depend on. Installation of software and drivers are better than before. Technology rocks!

The unit was working fine for three months and I had to have it replaced because it kept shorting out. Now the new one has been working find for 4 months and it began to crackle. Focusrite Tech support doesn't have a clue what to do and I've reached out several times. Each time someone said they coudn't help. I guess I won't be doing business with them anymore.
