I brought this from zzounds as part of a studio upgrade. This thing is sweet! The sound quality is amazing. It was easy to set up and start recording. I have used other brands in the past and they limited my ability due to poor sound. Never had a need to call manufacturer so I can't say much there. I'm just glad this thing didn't cost more. If you're looking for a great interface for a decent price, you can't go wrong. Thanks zzounds and focusrite.

I have used hardware-based DAW's for several years because of their all-in-one simplicity. However, after purchasing the 18i8, the world of software based recording opened wide. Excellent sound quality, and rock-stable, both the hardware and the software interface. Sweet sounding mix preamp. I have the older model, and the only take-away I would mention is that the input pot is very non-linear, with the practical gain settings near the top 10% of the pot. Focusrite has apparently addressed that in the new versions. Excellent interface.

Easy install, solid construction nice design features. I especially like the 3 volume knobs on the front. One for the main monitors and 2 separate monitor mixes. Very cool. Great sound and performs flawlessly. The only thing that would've made it nicer would have been a place for an insert point.
