"Shaymus gives his thoughts on his Fender E/A"

Shaymus "I'll always have this guitar...unless I break it or something...but that's unlikely. It's tough, well-built and sounds great. What more could I ask for?"
Sound
Shaymus: "I use an older version of this guitar (with a natural finish) for most of my shows and have played it for years now. It's very solid and non-tempermental, and gets a good amplified sound through a P.A. The tone and character of the guitar is even nicer unplugged, and I've never had any problem with its slipping tune or weirding out on me. Very dependable, rich sounding guitar"
Features
Shaymus "..the under-saddle pickup is easily EQued by slides on the first upper bout, and the guitar is really quite comfortable sitting in your lap. On stage, it's very light and well-balanced...which is why I use it for shows I guess..."
Quality
Shaymus "This guitar has taken quite a beating on the road with me but hasn't cried once. It is very sturdy and well put together, and I have a lot of trust in it...which you need to have if you're going to play live with something. I'm glad I own it"
Value
Shaymus "I don't remember what I paid for it originally, but whatever it was, it was worth it. There's nothing better than not having to worry about your instrument during a gig - really. Considering all the playing and recording I've done with this guitar (most of the Mystic Carousel album was recorded with it) I'm surprised it still likes me. That's loyalty...like a dog"

"No acoustic/electric in a reasonable price range has ever compared to the DG20CE."

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
Best guitar I own or ever have owned. I'd rather lose my left foot than my DG20CE, no joke.
Sound
Thick, full sound acoustic or plugged. Sounds great with thick strings down to Martin Marquis Lights (my preference), no lighter than .012-.054mm
Features
Perfectly engineered. Input placement in strap peg is handy (keeps strap from interfering), EQ placed directly in your sight, away from annoyances (hidden by strap like other similar priced ac/el's). Black colour w/ pickguard is extremely stylish.
Quality
Solid top and option of black colour (along with polyurethane gloss finish) make this an axe that will definately catch your eye and crave it. Use Dunlop Formula No. 65 polish & cleaner.
Value
Even Fender's recommended price of US$599 is uncontended by any worthwhile ac/el. For it's size, shape, and price this is the best value Fender ac/el, and quite possibly the best ac/el out there.
Manufacturer Support
Self-caused problems before & after warranty were repaired quickly and craftfully. (Under warranty all problems dealt with without cost)
The Wow Factor
Everyone who's ever seen mine has wanted it.

"Beginner or advance: play it and you won't want to put it down."

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Unless you're ready to put out some BIG bucks you're not going to find a better acoustic.
Sound
This thing blows any acoustic in it's price range (and a little above) out of the water: no bad rings and stays well tuned for a long time.
Features
You have to love the Fishman EQ ... totally not expected for what I paid for this guitar.
Quality
You can take one glance at this guitar and tell it was made with care.
Value
I had a price range when I bought my DG-20CE and out of the guitars I played there was no comparison to it.
Manufacturer Support
I wouldn't know ... it hasn't given me a chance to call ask for help.
The Wow Factor
Before I picked it up I was bias in my choice because it looks so pretty.
