"Terrible Value"

Overall: 1.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I bought this because of its looks. For $200 it is extremely overpriced. It is very low quality. I had to exchange my 1st one because of how messed up the fretboard was. If you don't know anything about ukuleles you might be happy with it, but if you do, you will be frustrated. My Makala was put together better than this and it was less than half the price. Yes it looks nice from far away, but up close it is awful. Drips in lacquer, non-flushed binding on neck, chips in wood. Very disappointed. Both my first and replacement were bad.
Sound
It sounds ok. About average volume. Ok resonance, nothing special.
Features

Ease of Use
It's fairly playable. The glossy neck makes it slower than most ukuleles.
Quality
VERY POOR QUALITY! Just bad. Surprisingly bad for fender. Made in Indonesia.
Value
Bad value. Look elsewhere.
Manufacturer Support
I dealt with Fender for a replacement. They were helpful, but the replacement was barely better.
The Wow Factor
The looks are what got me. The Koa and abalone make it look beautiful from afar. The tele headstock makes it different.

I own and still play a tenor guitar (which, I understand has become very rare) and is about 45 years old! If I live long enough, I plan to still be playing this instrument as long.
Sound
This is one of the most beautiful "looking" and "sounding" instruments I've ever seen or played! I've been playing guitar for years (I am 75 years old)and was always "disdainful" of the "lowly" ukele. I am a member of the Ukele Club at our local Sr. Center. We have a "ukele choir" and 25-30 ukeles played makes a really beautiful sound. I am the envy of the club with my beautiful Nohea Tenor Ukelele. Selma Cox
Features
My uke came with a gig bag, and it great for what it is, but I plan to purchase a Hard case very soon.
Ease of Use
Naturally, the more experienced the player...the greater that sound, but even a rank beginner would sound great on the instrument
Quality
Beautifully made. Could certainly be used on the road.
The Wow Factor
This instrument has it all!
