Exceptional mandolin tone is your with this Fender acoustic mandolin. Its spruce top and nato back and sides create a rich and focused tone.

"POS, not what you'd expect from "Fender""

Sound
I purchased this mandolin about 10 years back & with in the 1st year the neck developed 2 cracks in the neck. 1 just below the headstock & 1 right through the middle of the heel. I bought this because I've owned several 'Fender' products & hoped the quality would be the same. Unfortunately 'Fender' corp. wouldn't replaces or repair this mandolin. It still plays fine (but not great), I wished I'd have saved up a little more & purchased a low end 'Eastman' or 'Mike Kelly'. For this price you'd be better off with a 'Rover' mando which give you alot more bang for your buck.
Features
For this price we should at least get a gig bag. It does hold it's tune pretty well.
Ease of Use
Neck is very thin & string spacing tight, makes hands very sore & cramped.
Quality
Not what you'd expect from 'Fender', cracks in the neck w/ in a year of purchase.
Value
Poor quality for the price
Manufacturer Support
Very poor warranty, not the best experience.

""Not bad, not great. I recommend it for beginners""

Overall: 3.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
It's better than the $79 no-name one, and still better than the $130 no-name one.
Sound
Very bright sound. Mine had bad intonation, but that was the guitar store's fault. Really bright and full sound, though.
Features
Doesn't really... have much to it. Nice body, nice neck. I wish it had a pickup, but for the price, you can't ask for too much.
Ease of Use
I'm... working on learning mandolin based on guitar, violin and ukulele skills. It's a good instrument.
Quality
Bad intonation and a crappy scratch below the fingerboard. I had the floor model. I think it will last a good 5 years.
Value
It was inexpensive and makes great music.
Manufacturer Support
Took some convincing to get a free set-up, but that's the store's issue, not Fender's.
The Wow Factor
It looks pretty sexy.
