I've owned several P Basses in my time, and no matter what I keep coming back. However, the 2012 Precision V is better sounding than any P Bass I have played or heard in quite some time. Aside from '72 Precision, this is my favorite bass.

I've been playing music for the last 24 years and playing professionally for the last 16. I have been teaching at the secondary0

Wow - this bass is incredible! The rosewood fretboard is smooth, and offers a rich, warm, deep tone. The open E buzzes a little bit, but I'll be taking it to a Luthier for a set up soon, and that should take care of it. Other than that, this one seriously one of, if not THE best, basses I've ever had the pleasure of playing. It is, after all, a P Bass. If you want one, get one. You'll love it!

Musical Background:

20+ years.

Blues, rock, R & B, folk, bluegrass.

This bass does it all..... rock, country, blues.....you name it. I've played many basses onstage, but this one has become my go-to. True, it is a simplistic in its features, but yet the bass is very capable of adapting to most situations. I play in a band where a set often run the gamut from Merle Haggard to AC/DC ....and everything in between. Being able to adapt on the fly is a must. This bass kills it. Look no further than the 5 string American standard p bass to get the job done. You'll be glad you did.

Been searching for a good bass for about 2 years now... Used to have a LTD D6 model and it went out on me. Tried out a couple of basses and glad I settled for this... everything out of the box was perfect. Intonation, action , and it holds it's tune. I would recommend this bass to anyone.
