"Fender Player P"

Needed 1 more bass for recording. Long time bass player converted to guitar for making our recordings. Tons of research..there is 5 American P's here to choose from. I was going to mod something but kept listening close. the pickups in this bass are awesome. Classic P..motown with treble rolled off...rock-right where it needs to be & dropped its low but tight. This with Ampeg pf50t & SVT210av cabs is a lightweight studio musicians dream. The P up to 8 on volume is classic fender..dime..it just pushed the amp like no other bass i have. The fit& finish are impeccable..in comparison to other ones ...this is a bargain at this price

"P-Bass Again!"

Recently decided to ditch the jazz bass sound for some good old P-Bass and I could not be more pleased with this choice and the buttercream makes it a beauty and a beast. Its first gig was a eye catcher and an ear grabber with the whole band and even the sound man giving it two thumbs up....

This is a killer of a bass. The maple neck is smooth and fast. The pickups are okay but at this price they can be switched out for something better. Quality construction and a very nice weight. Played great right out of the box. zZounds delivers the best.

"The best of three Precisions I have owned."

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars

I bought this model when it was called the Standard Precision Bass in 2011, the 60th Anniversary Model. It was a little less money at the time but I am sure it is the same MIM bass as that one. Over many years I played and owned several basses including two MIA Precisions. This is the best of the three. Contrary to other reviewers who criticize the pickup on this bass it is way hotter than the ones on my two MIA Precisions. Also many of the parts are exactly the same ones used on the MIA basses. As far as durability its a no brainer, every bit as good. One difference is that access point for the truss rod is on the other end which I actually prefer. For the money you cannot beat this bass. The setup was great and the frets were perfect. I love it and maybe you will too! Mine is Candy Apple Red with the maple fingerboard and I put on the Fender chrome parts. I have gotten many comments on what a pretty bass it is.

Ordered a blemished Sunburst P Bass. Can't find any blemishes. Good setup out of the box. Will tweak a few things, but super playable already. Fast shipping. Excellent price!

Build quality is very good. Though it's not an american p bass, it should hold up to a lot of abuse. Pickup is good not great but gets the job done. It stays in tune pretty good. Only had to tune the E string up a little after a pretty long gig. The neck feels very good, nice and slick. Overall it's a good bass that is well worth the money.

Guitar player for 55 years I set up a recording studio with Studio One.Found myself needing the thump!Checked out all the Fender bases and decided on this Player Precision and an Orange Crush 100 watt. Way too much amp but, better than not enough.Strange as it seems, in my 55 years of playing guitar I’ve never owned a bass aside from a real pos affinity. I’ve been having a blast with the P Player! Great feel and fantastic tone! No regrets at ALL.Between the ease of buying (I have a monthly budget that is strictly for music equip) and Zzounds AMAZING shipping, customer service and monthly plan I’ve been able to buy some great equipment!I highly recommend this bass (and the amp) although, since I AM a died in the wool player, I’m planning on getting a 3 color American Jazz bass next!“How many guitars, amps and basses do you need?? Answer: One more!”
