"Great Guitar"

This is my second Telecaster. My first was a Squier Classic Vibe 50s Butterscotch, which I liked a lot. This Player Tele, however, just seems superior in every way-- I prefer the neck on this one (not thick, not thin; just the right kind of medium to satisfy most players who prefer one or the other); the satin finish on the back of the neck feels nice & smooth; the pickups sound REALLY good-- very articulate, great Fender cleans, great overdrive/distortion roar; and the Tidepool is a beautiful color in "person". I tend to be a Gibson guy (1 Les Paul, 3 SGs, plus several Epiphones); but I have a love for Fender, as well, and this Tele is my favorite guitar right now for its playability, versatility, and tone. Just a real joy to play!

"A Genuinely Great Guitar For The Price"

I have to "second" all of the rave reviews for this model Telecaster.I am guilty of some seriously verbose reviews so I'll try to make this one short and sweet. This is an excellent offering from Fender's Ensenada, MX plant. The alder body is light and quite resonant, and the satin-finished neck is uber fast. What REALLY makes this guitar stand out are the pickups.Usually my first move when buying MiM Fenders is to install better pickups, usually stuff from that Seymour Duncan guy.Not with this one. The Player Series is a HUGE step forward from the old Standard series - these are EXCELLENT pickups for a guitar in this price range. The neck pickup is particularly impressive. I have a Fender '62 Custom Tele pickup which I may install in bridge position but the neck pickup is definitely staying put. Most stock Tele neck pups are rather anemic but this one has a top end that is most impressive. It has a high-end response that makes it a real keeper. With fuzz/distortion, it absolutely sings. This particular specimen arrived with almost perfect intonation and an adequate string height. The frets were nicely dressed, no sharp edges or fret sprout.I'm a Telecaster addict, but I'm very particular which is why I always end up modding them to some degree but this one is fine as it is.I will be replacing the stock bridge, however, with a vintage style but that's only because I use the raised edge on the bottom as an anchor for my pinkie to hold my hand steady when picking.I would heartily recommend this model. (Some purists may sneer at the MiM's but they are truly a bargain. After all it's the sound which matters most. Right?)I awarded five stars to the 'Manufacturer Support' category because I've never had to bother them.

I'm not a traditional guitar player, so I can't talk about any of the specific stuff. However, I do enjoy rock n' roll music and this guitar does the trick to my ears. I wanted this specific guitar because I am also from the desert, so I have a bit of country influence. I don't have any effects pedals, but I do run this through a high-pass filter on my synthesizer, especially on the bridge pickup. I'm able to emulate tones on many of my favorite punk and thrash records. When I run it through a DIY Drive module, I'm able to achieve lush distortion baths. But even running it straight on my little Vox guitar amp is a joy. I'm sure there's a way to adjust it, but right now the action is a little low for my slide, which is fine because I enjoy picking on this thing. It feels nice and comfortable. It does have a slightly thinner neck, but that's exactly what I've been looking in a guitar. It's just comfortable to play and it makes it easier for me to achieve all of my sonic goals. As a Mexican-American, it makes me happy to buy a classic American guitar that was made in Mexico. It also didn't have to travel far to get to California. I think it's cool that Fender has their factories around the globe, including the states, making different guitars for different guitarists. This MIM Fender Telecaster was made for me!

I'm very satisfied with the quality of the craftsmanship of this guitar. I was able to buy high-end instruments in the past. So I was skeptical of a guitar at this price. This plays and sounds BETTER than some of the high-end guitars that I lost.(buy a security device for your home) And she has great bones as well. Worth every penny spent.

I've been playing with a Crestwood Strat Guitar for the past year. I decided to buy a tele base on youtube videos and boy I could not be more happy with the build quality and sound of this guitar. I got the Polar White and it just looks amazing! The Fender sounds so much more crisp and bright compared to the Crestwood. I figured it would be better than my 1st guitar since the Crestwood is roughly $150 on amazon. So excited and I can't wait to continue working on my playing skills.

"Great guitar for the money"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
The player series is great. The guitar comes almost ready out of the box. We all need our own set up to our specs but this one is decent. Overall a great playing and sounding guitars. It screams and growls like a Tele should. I have 2 other Teles and 3 Strats (American) plus a couple old Gibson's, a Gretsch, Taylor 810ce, Takamine, Denelectro 56 baritone, Stagg and a few others. This one takes the stage over my Americans for smaller venues. For the money you can't find a better Tele. Great pickups for that Nashville twang with chicken pickin' or driving rock rhythms. The neck feels great and it's nice to look at! I recommend! 5 stars. The Mexican models just keep getting better

It's a good tele, and zZounds did a good job getting it sent on the same day I ordered it, problem was fed x ground took 12 days to get it here, it sat in a warehouse for 11 days. All that being said the guitar plays and sounds great, workmanship is as good or better than my American standard tele.

"Beautiful Guitar, But arrived in bad shape"

Overall: 1.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)

I've played guitar for the last 10 years or so, but this was my first Fender Telecaster. I've bought several squier Teles, and had nothing but positives to say about them. I decided it was time to spend a little more money and get a legit Fender Telecaster, and it's been a disappointment. First and most important the guitar arrived damaged. It looks like it was dropped pretty hard which chipped the paint. The shipping box was in perfect condition, as well as the secondary box on the inside; which makes me think it happened before it was packaged and shipped out. And secondly the guitar arrived with pretty bad fret buzz on the E and A strings. And lastly the volume knob has a fairly large dead spot; where you need to turn it about 10-15% before it kicks on. At the moment I don't think i'll replace it, i'll just return it and look around for something different. It really is a beauty, and in good condition it would be great in probably anyone's guitar collection; unfortunately for me my first Fender Telecaster was a bust.

I love this guitar. One of my favorite guitars I've ever owned.I'm bummed that I couldve gotten a blemished Tele for $200 cheaper though even if it wouldve been a different color. Oh well. Still a fantastic guitar and would recommend to anyone.

Overall this is a great guitar, beyond beautiful, and is The original!!!! I had to spend a while to lower the saddles and reintonate, raise the pickups, fix the string tree, this is the Fender factorys oversight as no one should spend 700 and not have the instrument ready to rock. There should be at least a padded gig bag also. I do like the steel chrome block saddles they make a comfortable palm rest while picking, my only upgrade will be locking tuners and a new string tree-why after all these years they still keep putting a piece of crap 10cent tree on such nice guitars I'll never understand! Other than that I will be jamming and gigging on this killer axe!!!!
Sound
Sounds great after working on it for an hour or so.
Features
The tree sucks, great saddles.
Ease of Use
This is the best guitar in the world, better than most usa models I've played.
Quality
Should last till the sun explodes.
Value
Great value, no hard case, no padded case, just Styrofoam and cardboard.
Manufacturer Support
Fender just likes to build and sell, they should be reading comments and taking care of quality control before any instrument leaves their facility.
The Wow Factor
Beautiful, plays nice, I own many different guitars.
