I have long wished for an actual Fender Stratocaster. Not a Squire (although I've played some very nice ones) and not a knockoff regardless of the quality. I wanted the guitar I saw Buddy Holly rock the world with, and Eric Clapton make sweet love to. Since forming my own professional band, I knew that I could not be taken seriously playing a "cheap" guitar. My problem is cheap guitars have always been beyond my budget. Then I find zzounds.com. Not only did they have the exact Fender Stat I wanted, the Roadhouse, but I could split it up into 4 very affordable payments and not have to wait! I had been turned down by this store that claims to be a center for guitars (see what I did there) , plus the salesman completely ignored me when I asked about the Roadhouse. This guitar is almost perfect. As a Buddy Holly fan, I had wanted a sunburst finish with a maple fret board, but I decided I wanted the amazing variety of sounds I could get from the fake tuner knob even more. I still get a finish similar to what I wanted, and I actually prefer the rosewood to the maple, as I find the maple looks dirty and warn after a short period of time. The sounds are amazing! I can get a huge variety of sounds just by changing my tuner knob and my pickup selector. I strongly recommend trying this guitar out and comparing it to a standard Strat. Just don't try to do at the center for guitars. Lol

"active pickups are not for me"

Overall: 2.5 out of 5 stars

this is a pretty guitar no doubt, but if I could return it I would. I didn't realize when I bought it that it required D batteries for the active pickups... it is a pain in the ass to have to constantly put in new batteries.. I will have spent more in batteries than i paid for the guitar in no time. I dont like it and will probably trade it to someone for something better

Musical Background:

I play 17 instruments, mostly guitar though
