I absolutely love this bass. It is a very high quality instrument with a lot of attention to detail. The Surf Pearl finish is absolutely beautiful, and the pics do not do it justice, you have to see it in person. The 18 volt preamp is very powerful, but also pretty transparent. It still sounds like a jazz bass in active mode, just with more tone shaping options. The neck profile is very comfortable, and smooth to play. It was perfectly intonated and playable right out of the box. The Hi-mass bridge adds a whole extra dimension to the low end tone. The instrument has a reassuring weight to it, and sustains for days. The included deluxe gig bag is a plus also. This bass would be perfectly suited for any musical style you could want to play.
