"Great guitar... BUT!"

This is the second guitar, in a row, that I have ordered through zZounds that was unplayable, out of the box. After opening this on the day of purchase I had to take it to a tech for fret dressing and set up... the frets were shockingly bad for a guitar that retails for $1200, when it's not on sale. I'm not going to complain about the action but be forewarned that if you don't know how to adjust the truss rod and set it up yourself you may have to pay someone to do it for you. Also, less than impressive, are the plastic tuners that look like there were mounted by a 12 year old. $1200 guitar!!! Come on!BUT... now that I've had it set up and the sharp frets addressed it's INCREDIBLE! At some point I will replace the tuners with something of much better quality... but despite all that I've said here, it's a guitar that I'm glad I purchased it. Don't be shocked, though, if you buy one and you have to put some extra money into it.Here's what awesome... the pickups... WOW!!! The sound that comes from this guitar is worth all the extra effort I had to go through to get it playable. It sounds and feels amazing! The guitar is stunning in appearance. Everyone I've shown it to has been blown away by how gorgeous it is and the tone that comes from it.

I am first and foremost a Telecaster man. However, lately I have been getting more into humbucker's and Les Pauls. Now that I scratched that itch with a nice, Slash Goldtop, I wanted a really nice Telecaster to get back to my roots.I had been thinking about the Gold Foil for a while and finally pulled the trigger, not really knowing what to expect. I have to say that I have never been more pleasantly surprised by a guitar in my life. First, it is absolutely beautiful. Perfect rosewood frets, perfect whitewash finish on the body, nary a nick, scratch or imperfection from tip to tail. The neck finish is a perfect aged satin. Though I prefer the neck a little thicker, I took to it in no time and love it as it complimemts the body weight and size, you guessed it, perfectly. I have'nt even begun to talk about the best part of the guitar yet, and that would be the mini humbucker gold foil pickups. I suspected they would be good as I once had a Firebird with mini's that was the best sounding guitar I ever owned. Until now, that is. The cleans are crisp but full and the crunch just cannot be matched imho by anything else out there. If you like the Telecaster body style (your crazy if you don't lol) and want a guitar that will make the most beautiful music, you have to try this one out. zZounds is AWESOME, as you know, so get to it. You will be amazed ny this guitar. I wish I could rate the sound 6 stars.

After playing this guitar for 3 months, I wanted to let everyone know how I feel after plaing this telecaster for a while.
Sound
This guitar is unbelievable in the tone market. It sounded great out of the box, but once I raised the pickups a smidge and adjusted the string height to my preferences, this thing went to another level. I am using an old, two channel Ampeg that says Guitar Amp. lol. And this guitar can get any sound I want out that old amp. From crunch, to bells and everything in between, the sky is the limit with this one.
Features
No unneeded extra's on this one. It is pure, simple, telecaster that feels and sounds like a professional guitar.
Ease of Use
As stated above. After slight adjustment, this guitar really started simging. Everything you play out of it sounds good.
Quality
I was leery of a MIM, but this is a very, very nice tele. Just a beautiful piece of Fender goodness. Perfect frets on the smooth, Ebony fretboard. Gorgeous satin neck. Beautiful semi transparent whitewash on the body.
Value
Absolutely. Ill never part with this guitar.
Manufacturer Support
No. Thats a good thing.
The Wow Factor
It hit my sweetspot. Old school look and sound in nicely made modern guitar.
