"!!!!!!!!!!!!!THIS GUITAR IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
This is an amazing guitar weather you want looks, sound or both! I cant imagine im going to sell it for a looooong time!
Sound
The combination of a humbucker and two single coils make this a very versitile guitar. It has that classic highway sound, but can also be switched to a high-watt metal monster with the right overdrive.
Features
Amazing, some of the reviews below say that theirs didnt come with a tremelo bar, mine did however and im still experimenting with the bridge. I have plans to put a custom fender neckplate on it to give it that extra touch. Also, the 70's style head is awesome!
Ease of Use
The wide neck and large frets make this the perfect guitar for anyone to play. You can also get virtually and sound out of it.
Quality
Im confident that my Fender will never let me down, especially with a strap lock.
Value
This guitar is worth every penny i paid for it!
Manufacturer Support
My Highway One is still fairly new and i havnt had to contact Fender yet.
The Wow Factor
Mine is Cocoa Transparent and it definetly has a lot od sex apeal!

fender out did themselves.
Sound
After some ajustments toget rid of string rattle, and raising the single coil pick-up height,I was excited about the sound. It has a warm acoustic sound that really carries.I love the pick-ups.the bridge humbucker is amazing.when I strapped it on in rehersal,my bandmates were impressed with the looks and sound.I own a texas special stat, texas special fat strat, les paul standard mahogany, and a wayne's world squire strat with little 59"s at the neck and bridge, and hot rails in the center. It rocks right up there with all of them, and I paid a lot less money.I coundn't be happier with it.
Features
It's got that jimi hendrix vibe. What more can I say.
Quality
I love the finish. It looks better in person.
Value
With some tweeking,it rates up there with any guitar.
Manufacturer Support
all my fenders are rock solid.

"Love at first sight"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I love this guitar. It plays well and is pretty to boot. I saw it advertised on the internet and knew that it was one of the ones that I would consider getting. As it happened, I walked into a store and saw it hanging there on sale. It took about two seconds to decide to get it.
Sound
This guitar with it's pick up set-up will give you a great variety of sound. The humbucker sounds especially nice.
Features
The guitar is beautiful - the gig bag that came with it is superb!
Quality
excellent
Value
Best deal on an American made fender.

The Wow Factor
The Amber finish shows off the natural wood grain yet is rich. (Fender should feature more guitars in this finish). Sustain is great and it's whole setup makes it comfortable to play.

"THE guitar to get"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Maybe in time some features will be upgraded (like the pick-ups) as my playing develops. If it gets lost or stolen, I'd get a similar one. I am just glad I got it right the first time. I could've started with a cheaper guitar but I decided to get one that will be friendly to both novice and experienced.
Sound
The humbucker and the 2 single coils allow you to try a variety of set-ups. Very versatile. And as the other reviewers had said, it has that classic Strat sound.
Features
For the price, the materials and parts were more than adequate. The woods used made the guitar sound better.
Ease of Use
I'm practically a beginner, trying to learn guitar again after years of not playing. The guitar has been easy to use,the neck makes for fast movement and even unplugged you can practice away.
Quality
The finish is thin, but it supposedly helps with the tone. The craftmanship is fantastic. Everything fits well and the construction is sturdy. Also, it looks very good. I got mine in Manila, too bad they had only walnut (preferred amber) but I'm quite happy with the looks regardless.
Value
This a great guitar for the price. It's more expensive where I got it but factoring in shipping, taxes,etc... it would've been the same had I gotten it from the US. The price was worth it.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't had the need to deal with them (local dealer in Manila).
The Wow Factor
Plays good and looks good. It should serve me well in years to come.

"This gutar is perfect for everything."

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
i expect to be satisfied with this guitar for a long time. it hasnt shown any wear or terr besides a few niks. but other than that its great.
Sound
this guitar sounds great. you can use it for any type of music so its really handy. sounds like a million bucks. just make sure you get new strings after you order it because the strings that come on it suck.
Features
Its got high frett access and you can sit and play it unlike guitars like the "flying-v". and its got a divit on the inside that fits right on your side. feels great.
Quality
ive had mine for about a year and there isnt one thing wrong with it.its easy to keep in shape.
The Wow Factor
its the perfect guitar to have. its so fun to play and its just great.

"Buy it!!!"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
A guitar for life. I might pick up a standard or highway 1 telecaster for slide (although in this regard this guitar is versatile for the classic Fender slide tone or a hybrid Gibson growl)
Sound
A great low cost compromise with traditional strat twang plus a more beefy humbucker whack. Great for lead and slide. It ain't exactly noiseless but neither is a 60 or 70's vintage original Strat. Sounds great with a tube amp (Fender Blues Junior).
Features
Loved the low gloss finish and colour (amber). Construction was excellent.
Quality
Construction was first class. The finish may not survive the road but all the greats had/have well loved axes (Gallagher, Clapton, Buchanon et al). Great value for the price and quality.

Sounds like a Strat with a high gain humbucker.. exactly what I wanted.

"One HECK of a GUITAR!!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I have bought, traded, sold many strats over my 25 years of playing, and I can honestly say, the HWY 1 HSS strat is the best of them. I will be keeping my two....
Sound
Let me tell you this guitar kills! I bought two. One amber, the other Cocoa. The humbucker in the bridge has great attack, and the single coils are a little noisy, but what do you expect from them. The neck feels great, and I am a very anal when it comes to a necks feel to my hand. I use an Aiken Invader head thru a Marshall 1960 AX cab, with a few effect pedals on my board. I can get pretty close to the old VH brown sound.
Features
Not may features, just a strat, but the humbucker makes the difference in the sound and vibe. I love the late 60's-70's headstock, very funky.
Quality
It has a very thin finish, but this just lets the sound come thru that much more. Very punchy! Built like a tank. Hey, its a Fender strat, a workhorse guitar, and thats what I use my two for.
Value
THis is the best value in an American made Fender today. Best value, best features, and best playability, best vibe. I could go on and on. You owe it to yourself to check one out.
Manufacturer Support
I dont know how to rate this, never had contact with Fender, YET....
The Wow Factor
I got two, enough said....
