I have had a complete different experience than other reviewers. This guitar was made in Indonesia and is an amazing guitar.The baked maple neck is fast and solid. The pickups sound great and clean up when you back off of volume.I took my guitar to get a setup at my local music store as soon as I got it, so maybe that’s why I’m so impressed. But I think it is an amazing comfortable guitar with a strat feeling neck and a ton of growl. Mine stays in tune for days at a time it is Highly recommended by Me I even prefer it to my Wolfgang special because of the super fast baked maple neck.

The guitar is awesome! I played one once and fell in love with it! Had to have one. I have been hammering the Floyd Rose special and it stays in tune. amazing!! the Wolfgang pickups to say sound incredible wouldn't be enough praise.. the overall playability ecpecialy the neck !! You don't have to fight the guitar as EVH would say.. and thank z sounds for handling a shipping problem I had with the local place and did an amazing job correcting everything..

So, first I’m a Les paul, strat guy. I wanted a Floyd rose for effects/harmonic drives etc. always looked these, but never tried one. Straight out of the box it’s great. First, don’t go too much by the picture of the Laurel Burl … all the wood will obviously be different. Mine is gorgeous. The Floyd on mine is dark gun metal grey. Pickups sound great. Playability is amazing. I’m honestly blown away by how great this guitar actually is. And this is coming from a guy who’s owned US artist series guitars.

My Transparent Green arrived today. FedEx always does a good job handling packages (for me, anyway) so knowing it had no case wasn't an issue.Mine came double-boxed but the initial box was packaged well with plenty of padding and support.It came in mint condition, minus a little discoloring on the truss wheel. It had a basic set-up so I tuned it up just to check to make sure everything functioned properly... and it did.No quality issues on mine. The build is good, the maple top was pretty clean and defect-free, the fretwork is better than Chinese guitars and yes: the pick-ups are better-than-average.I have no problem recommending EVH. For the money, I wasn't expecting EMG's and FR T-1000 trem. systems so I gave my whole experience 5 stars.

This is a very good guitar for its class (Indonesian). It provides a 'clean slate', for those players with a bent towards upgrades, modifications, etc. The EVH Floyd Rose Special, bridge, has some fairly, serious, flaws in quality. I had to replace all of the individual bridge components with Floyd Rose Series 1000 uprades - tougher metals (it's a zinc alloy), like, hardened-steel, titanium, etc., after about 6 months of use. The nickel-alloy frets also began to show serious signs of wear in that same time period, so, I ended up doing a fret-level and re-dress. However - it's 'customizable', by nature, and lends itself to up these projects. The headstock tuners became, 'sticky', and 'clunky', within 6 months, as well. Unfortunately, I cannot find, direct-swap, replacement tuners for this guitar. (Another), however - the sound that comes out of this guitar is, well, - I'd give it an 'incredible'! The first time I played it - it actually, startled me. I played a few runs, took it off, put it on its stand - and then - just, looked, at it - like it was, some, beast - from another world! (I really did this) I used a Line 6 Spider IV 30w, and no, external, effects. The sound blew me away. I was slack-jawed. I had to call my brother and tell him about it! The only other time I had had such an experience, was the day, my son, was born!

Well I just purchased this guitar and I was expecting a decent guitar since it is at the $650 price point and realistically a guitar can go either way at that price point and well this guitar has its pros and it's cons but overall it's a "decent" guitar if you know how to work on guitars. You should ALWAYS inspect a guitar inside and out before you decide to keep it cause while it may look and sound great, under the hood may hold a different story. This guitar came single boxed for some reason I can't understand but it was in tack thank God. It actually had a decent set up done on it as far as action, intonation and neck relief goes, no sharp feet ends, no dead frets really nothing to be concerned with, but then I started my usual " under the hood" check and that's when the cons started popping up. The neck pocket already was starting to have finish checks in it at the corners but it wasn't in the wood but still noticeable and unacceptable. The term system is where this guitar takes a dump, I knew that it being a Floyd special it was going to need an upgrade at some point but some one at the factory drilled the spring claw screws in at the wrong place giving the screws the wrong angle and that made the cavity cover not fit because the claw sits outside the body when set up correctly, so instead of fixing the issue by dowelling the holes and starting over they simply pushed the screws back in the cavity so the cover would fit but by doing so they bent the crap out of both screws making a future set up IMPOSSIBLE! Luckily I had a floyd rose 1000 that I was able to get some parts off of and I "corrected" the problem for now by making the floyd immovable making it a fixed bridge. If I really want to fix it I'll have to dowel the holes and start over and right now I don't want to do that. That problem should NOT be on a guitar at the $650 price point!!! I didn't return the guitar because it's one of the last guitars that EVH manufactured before Eddie's death so I want to hold onto it but I'll probably NEVER buy an Indonesian made EVH again!! So buyer beware! P.S. even though they claim that the pickups are the exact same as the rest of their guitars well they're made the same but they're not the same cause it's my understanding that the pickups are made to the same specs but assembled at the factory as the guitar.

I bought it wanting a real EVH built instead building my own as I always have , As soon as the guitar came the Floyd rose was way up going to the neck direction it was not even adjusted , the string gap was like way high and the neck screws was striped so it could not have been adjusted it was not in tune and no way to get it to tune , It will need new neck and hours to make it play , I have put in a return but they are out of stock , when anyone buys this please check as soon it comes or you be sorry they no way this can have passed any inspection better off but china build yourself
