So I bought this a couple of weeks ago to use as a six string for heavy rhythm work. I've got it tuned to drop B flat, with NYXL 12-60's on it, and is sounds absolutely monstrous. The resonance that you get from this is incredible. The combination of the neck through and the Mahogany are no brainers for heavy tone, but also the body weight and size contribute a lot as well. You can feel the guitar subtly vibrating in your fretting hand when you are chunking with your right, especially with open chords or slower work. The Fishman is extremely tight and clean, I compare it to an EMG, but with a little more life, and a bit cleaner in the distortion. The second voicing (pull tap) is very warm and round, and sounds amazing for leads or single note playing. Build quality on the model I got was very good; no issues aesthetically or functionally. The neck is nice and chunky, definitely not a thin Ibanez profile, but that is a positive for me. Especially on a 6 string. Anybody that doesn't have tiny hands should have no problem getting where they need to go with this neck. The Satin finish feels great, and is super fast and silky smooth. I LOVE the single pickup and volume placement. I have custom Kiesel builds, and I always get my guitars built like this. I love the simplicity, and the ease of use. I cannot stand it when guitar companies put the volume knob directly under the bridge pickup- I struggle constantly with it getting in the way. -Here it is a complete non issue, and your volume is still very accessible. No cons I can think of. The guitar is heavy, if that is a problem for you I would suggest that you take that into consideration, and it takes a little getting used to playing, especially sitting down due to the shape. But once you find a comfortable playing position, this thing will kill. I dig the locking tuners and side Luminlays, you don't always get those on a guitar under 1,000. I use it for metal, but I could definitely see you getting some versatile tones out of this, and using it for a number of genres. Sick looking, playing, and sounding guitar. Highly recommend, and at this price is a huge value for what you are getting.
