I got this bass because it just fits my personal style. I played a Spector, G&L and other active basses over the years and the tone of this one is as good if not better than any I've played. I have always thought that LTD guitars and basses are really well made and good value products. I worked in a music store where we sold ESP and LTD and I came to respect their line. This is not your daddy's P-bass or J-bass if you are looking for that low rumble this is not the bass for you. The pick-ups are bass lines and have a great tone to them. The active electronics are helped by the fact that you have a bass and treble knob which allows you to boost or cut them. The weight is also very light for a bass guitar. I purchased the amber color which for some reason was only $869.00 with the case. The top is a quilted maple and really beautiful. Overall everything about this bass is top shelf and the best part it is actually made in Japan at the ESP factory. I received mine on a Wed. took it out of the case tuned it to pitch and went out Sat. and played 2 gigs with it and haven't had to adjust anything to it since.Great bass, beautiful color and top, great tone, features with a case and made in Japan is there anything more to say.

This bass is awesome, once I fixed the neck. Sounds great no matter what sound you're looking for or what you're playing out of. Light, sturdy, clean and very customizable. Looks good too. This is my bass of choice now. The only thing I would change would be the body size, but most new basses are a bit on the small size these days.
