I own quite a few real ESP Custom Shop guitars; I was hesitant about buying this based on the E-II logo and concern over it being more along the lines of typical LTD models. Based on the price, I assumed the quality was better than typical. I use EMGs in all of my guitars for consistency and I need a Floyd Rose; so this was really in line with what I wanted. I took the chance and it's a MONSTER shred machine. Right out of the box, it was set up exceptionally well and even in tune. The finish is exceptional. The neck thru construction is great. I would have preferred if it had an EMG 81/85 mix - but not a huge deal overall. The only thing to consider is that with the EMG 81s, it's pretty much high gain, high output at all times -- making anything less than hard rock / metal a little more difficult since it doesn't clean up that well; at least compared to an EMG 85 in the bridge. I also play in a 70s classic rock band where we play the tunes a bit heavier than the originals and this guitar is a bit hard to use for that since it's full on scream and little else.

Had to loosen the truss rod a touch but outside of that the setup was accurate and the playability is awesome!! Changed the strings to 11-56 for a heavier feel. Finish is top notch. This guitar is absolutely beautiful and every detail is as perfect as you would expect in this price range. 100% pleased with this bad boy

Have not used guitar at a gig yet but after spending two weeks with it and putting it through the paces at two rehearsals I love it. Build quality is great and the overall finish is perfect. Neck and fretboard are easy to navigate and comfortable. EMG 81's sound great at both positions. Overall look, quality and vibe of guitar is awesome.
