Got this guitar to have something cheap to practice with and I'm pretty satisfied with it. It's lightweight and the neck feels good (a little on the thicker side.) The only complaint I really have is that it was setup pretty badly with a lot of buzzing. I set it up and removed the buzzing and that's no longer an issue thankfully. Some things shown in the description and in the pictures aren't on the EC-256. Firstly this is a CHINESE guitar, not Indonesian and the fretboard is much darker than the one in the picture. The board is actually so dark it could almost pass as ebony since it makes the black binding look nearly invisible. Lastly the model number inlay on the 12th fret does not exist, it's just another flag inlay. The pickups sound good enough. Overall, it looks nice, feels nice, but I don't see this thing being anything more than a solid practice guitar.

It didn’t play too well out of the box. It had a few high frets and the strings were garbage. So I addressed the frets, threw in some EMG Het Set pickups(the ones it came with were fairly decent, I just play a bit heavier and needed some more low end and versatility), a GRS black copper curved locking tailpiece and a black roller saddle bridge and she plays like a dream. She is a bit hefty for her size but the body cuts are excellent and the paint is flawless. This is my new “go to” guitar currently. Playing through a Peavy 6505 Plus with a Diezel VH4-2 as a pre-amp pushed by a Boss SD-1 Waza OD. The only other thing that I will replace will be the trashy plastic nut with a Graphtech one. Excellent guitar for the price. A few upgrades that still leaves this at well under $1000 and it plays better than some $1500+ guitars that I have on the rack.

I was really happy with the quality of workmen ship and feel. After a slight neck adjustment. Sound is good. Only draw back i noticed was I will have to change the XJ frets. But not the fault of design. I have nerve damage and cant hold stings down.

I bought this guitar just wanting a LP shape for a decent price. The first thing I noticed was how good it felt to play. And how light it is. The only complaint I have is the pickups. They are dark, borderline muddy. But I was planning on replacing them anyways. Overall this is a great guitar.
