"Sweet spot redefined"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I bought these because I had a coupon and it was about to expire. I put a set on my ESP m100 and it blew my mind. The pickups I was just barely satisfied with became raging monsters that screamed with every pinch harmonic I reached for. I was seriously considering swapping out the pups on this guitar. All I really needed were strings that brought out all the qualities they were supposed to have. Try these strings, they are much cheaper than a new set of pups!
Sound
Pinch harmonics rip easily from mediocre pups that rarely screamed before. The sound is more clear and defined as well. The "muddy" quality I never liked disappeared.
Features
The one difference that concerned me at first, but turned out to be a plus as well, was that these strings felt tighter at first. Once they were stretched in and played a little they became more comfortable than any nickel strings I have ever played. They really are "slinky."
Ease of Use
Cobalts are the same as any other string to install.
Quality
Best string I have ever used. I will never play anything else again.
Value
The value makes sense when you consider the change to a mediocre instrument is pretty close to what you might get from a hundred bucks worth of pickups and another hundred bucks to install them correctly.
Manufacturer Support
I have always like Ernie Ball, now I'm an addict.
The Wow Factor
They blew my mind and I can't leave them alone.

I bought a set yesterday purely out of curiosity and decided to put them through the ringer at a gig last night. All I can say is WOW! My stratocaster has never sounded better! The output, believe it or not, is significantly higher than nickel strings and the tone from that start was so beautiful that I will never go back to nickel strings again. They stayed in tune no matter what I threw at them and felt awesome by the end of the night once they really got settled in. Fantastic strings!

You name it, I probably play it. Mainly hard rock and metal but also country, blues, hell even ambient.

These are hands down the best strings I have ever used! I’ve been an Ernie Ball user ever since I began playing guitar, and though I have tried out other brands I would always come back to EB.The cobalt strings feel great to the touch and sound even better, they really cleaned up the low end and my guitar has never sounded clearer. And though they initially felt tighter than the strings I used before (Ernie Ball 2333 Super Slinky), they really come alive once properly stretched. String bends are much more comfortable and pinch harmonics come much easier.Try them out, and I’m sure you’ll be won over too!

I put these on my Strat 4 hours ago and without hesitation I can say that these are 5 star strings. There is definitely more sustain and volume and I really like the feel. Strange “grey” winding actually matches my brushed nickel hardware. Quite an inexpensive way to make my amazing Jeff Beck Strat even better. These are now my “go to” strings which says a lot since I’ve actually been using Super Slinky strings since I was introduced to them in a music store in San Francisco in 1969.Buy these!
