Well, since I've discovered these strings a couple ofyears ago, they have become my go too on most of my electric guitars. These strings are different than standard nickel plated steel strings. They have an enhanced, tighter sounding bass response, particularly noticeable when using low output pickups like Filtertrons through high gain. On a Standard guitar with humbuckers, think Gibson SG's and Les Paul's, they are absolutely glorious. These are also great for people who have a nickel allergy. People whose skin blisters and turn their bass strings black will particularly appreciate the absence of Nickel. They can be a little brittle. It's easy to snap a bass string if you wind them up too tight with a powered peg winder, so don't over tighten/over tune them.At a cost of $10.00, they are a bit more expensive than regular Slinky's, but they sound even better and last a long time.
